Barong Tagalog

The Barong Tagalog, more commonly known simply as Barong, is an

embroidered formal shirt that is considered the national dress of
Filipino men. However, in recent decades, this shirt has been
feminized and worn by women, such as when Philippine President
Corazon Aquino wore it at various times during her Presidency. It is a
lightweight garment made from either Pia fabric (hand-woven
pineapple leaf fibers) or banana silk, and worn untucked over an
undershirt. The word Barong is a coined word that comes from the
Tagalog word baro, which means "outfit."

Mestiza Dress
The Mestiza Dress, or terno, is a formal gown made of
expensive lace and fabric adorned with detailed embroidery.
Known for its elegancy and butterfly sleeves, this dress is
considered the sophisticated version of the baro't saya
(blouse and skirt). It is usually worn on formal occasions.

Maria Clara Dress

The Maria Clara Dress was named after the heroine, Maria
Clara, in one of the novels of Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose
Rizal. This gown features a floor-length paneled skirt, made of
either silk or satin, and consists of four separate pieces: the
collarless, bell-sleeved camisa; the stiff, neck-covering pauelo;
the bubble-shaped floor length saya; and the hip-hugging, kneelength tapis, or overskirt.

FashionShow
Igorot
This type of attire is worn by the Igorot, which is the collective
name of several Austronesian ethnic groups in the Philippines.
They inhabit the mountain ranges of Luzon, one of the country's
main three geographical regions. This costume reflects their way
of life, cultures, personalities, religious practices, and rituals. The
Igorot attire is very simple- the men typically wear long strips of
handwoven loincloth called wanes, while the women wear a kind
of wrap-around skirt called lufid.

Kimona Dress
Originating from the Visayas, the Kimona Dress can
be worn for every day activities as a casual attire.
With more embellished kimonas, this type of outfit
can be worn for more formal occasions. A casual
kimona dress is always worn with matching Visayan
wrap called a patadyong as a skirt.

The Muslim Attire

This attire is worn by the Muslims who live in the southern part,
or Mindanao region of the Philippines. Women wear long silk
skirts adorned with elaborately woven metallic threads. In some
cases, an overskirt frames the longer skirt. Typically, this
costume is paired up with scarves draped from or around the
shoulder and an embellished umbrella. For the men, they wear
shorter, wrap-around skirts.
This dress shows the mix of Arab, Malaysian, and Chinese
influences.
