Behavioral- ADHD- students desk will be equipped with
bouncy bands. These bouncy bands are strong
rubber like bands at the foot of their desk raised off the
ground slightly. They are free to bounce their legs and
feet to get their energy out and, hopefully, be more
attentive to what is going on in the lesson being taught.
Having this tool close to the floor will also minimize
distractions to other children.

PreAssessment of Students
Students will fill out the first two sections of a KWL chart
o They will fill out with that already know and what
they want to know (the final, what they learned,
will be filled out after the activity)

Modeling of the Concept

Students will observe the teacher going through the
given handout from indexmundi.com (projected on the
white board) and highlighting similarities between the
two countries in yellow and differences in pink.
After going through and highlighting, students will
observe me creating my own Venn diagram adding in
facts in the appropriate places
They will then be informed that they will each have to
write down two facts for either US or AU or both; I will
assign them by rows who will get which
o I will tell them this after they have completed
highlighting the handout so that they just dont
highlight what they are assigned to write down for
the life size Venn diagram activity
I will also have some prewritten facts that I think are
important for them to know in case no one says them.
Once everyone is done, volunteers will need to put my
facts in the appropriate place on the life size Venn
diagram.
Providing the Independent Practice
Students will go through the given handout and will
highlight similarities between the two countries in yellow
and differences in pink.
Once they have finished highlighting and circling,
students will fill out a Venn diagram comparing the two
countries.
Guiding the Practice
Students will be assigned by rows to write down two of
their favorite facts of their assigned country(s). They will
then stand in the life size Venn diagram and, when
prompted, will tell the class their fact. We will vote on
whether we agree that they are in the right country on
the diagram by raising hands.
Transition
I will take a picture of them in their life size diagram to
put up in our classroom for visitors to see.
Students will walk back to their seats, taking their facts
with them to discard.
