have discussed last meeting?

Sir, we have radio waves, microwaves,

Very good, again what are regions in

electromagnetic spectrum?
What is the value of speed of light in
a vacuum?
How about the formula for getting
the energy?

Again, what is the relationship of

wavelength, frequency and energy?

Thank you for that wonderful

never forget that.

infrared, visible light, x-ray and

gamma rays.
The value of speed of light in a
vacuum is 3 x 108 m/s
Sir, we have the E=hf where the f is
the frequency of EM waves and h is
the Plancks constant which has a
value of 6.63 x 10-34 J/s
The relationship of wavelength and
frequency, they are inversely
proportional and with regards about to
the relationship of frequency and
energy, they are directly proportional.
Yes sir!

Presentation of
objectives

Ok, Lets have some fun. Do you

want me to play a video?
Ok, since you want I will present a
simple video presentation, and then
afterwards I will throw some
questions based of what you have
seen.

Yes sir

Ok, did you enjoy watching video?

Yes sir!

What did you observe from the

video?

We observed that the animals from the

video were fighting themselves
because of the mirror.

Ok, very good observation, why is it

that animals are fighting
themselves?

I think sir, because of the mirror, they

see strangers in front of the mirror
which indeed those strangers are the
images form by reflection of their own
appearances.

Yes sir

(The students are watching video

presentation)

Ok very good , since you stated the

word reflection, our topic for this
morning is all about reflection of
light in mirror
Ok, based from the video that we
have watched, how mirror is related
to our topic?

Before we proceed to our topic lets

have first our learning objectives
Please read.

Mirror is related in such a way that it is

the main reason why we produced
reflection due to its properties like for
instance the so-called shiny.

At the end of the discussion, the

students are expected to:
1. state the laws of reflection in
mirrors,
2. label the components of the
reflection in mirrors; and
3. relate the concept of reflection

Unlocking
difficulties

of light mirrors in real life

situation.
Ok, thank you these objectives
will be our goal for this day and we
need to achieve and attain it
profoundly through your full
cooperation and collaboration.
Ok, as we go through with our
discussion we will be encountering
unfamiliar words
Sir, plane-to make smooth or even
The first word is plane
What is plane?
The second word is mirror
What is mirror?
Another word is normal line
The next word is incident ray

Activity (20
minutes)

The next word is reflected ray

Ok thank you, these terms will be

used in our discussion for us to
understand more about the topic.

Mirror-something that shows what

another thing.
Normal line imaginary vertical line
where the light strikes mirror
Incidence ray the ray of light
approaching the mirror represented by
an arrow approaching an optical
element like mirror
Reflected ray is a ray of light that
leave the mirror and represented by
an arrow pointing away from the
mirror

To start with our topic lets have first

an activity which entitled Mirror,
Mirror On the Wall
Ok, divide yourself into 4 group
kindly count 1 to 4.
Group 1 will occupy the left side
portion of the room while Group 2
will occupy the right portion of the
room, Group 3 at back portion of
the room and Group 4 will occupy
the front portion of the room
Each group must have a leader and
presenter.
Ok, For you to be guided with your
presentation or performance, I have
here rubrics for the basis of your
points. Heres the rubrics

The students will count 1 to 4

None, sir

None, sir
Do you have any question about
our rubrics?
Do you have something to add with
our rubrics?

(The group leader will approach to the

teacher)

Ok, since none, Each group leader

please come to me for your
materials to be used.
Class kindly read the procedures, if
you have questions just approach
me and I will answer your question
accordingly.
Ok, I will give you 15 minutes to the
activity and 5 minutes for the
presentation
Ok, lets proceed to our activity, the
time starts now!
Ok, time is up!
Lets come now to the presentation
of each group

Analysis (5
minutes)

Lets proceed to the presentation of

group 1, ok lets welcome the
presenter of the group 1
Ok, thank you group for wonderful
presentation, lets proceed the
presentation of the group 2,

(The group 1 presenter will present the

group work)

(The group 2 presenter will present the

group work)
(The group 3 presenter will present the
group work)

ok lets welcome the presenter of

the group 3
Thank you, group 3 for your
wonderful presentation, ok lets
proceed to the presentation of the
last group but not the least, which is
the group 3.
Lets check your work
Based from the activity, what are
the distances from the mark then to
the mirror?
What are the distances from the

The measurement of each mark is 3

cm
The measurement of each image is 3
cm

image and the mirror?

The distance is 6 cm.
What is the distance from the actual
object to the image?
Abstraction
(15 minutes)

What are the height and width of

the actual object?
What are the height and width of
the image formed in the mirror?
From the Set C results what did you
notice on the angle of incidence and
angle of reflection?

Based from the activity

In Set A, how will you compare the
distances from the mirror of the
object with that of the image?
How did you know that?
Very good!
Since you have stated Reflection
Would you please describe it?

(The answer will depend to the

measurements)

(The answer will depend to the

measurements)

We notice that the angle of incidence

is equal to the angle of reflection for
example in the activity we have angle
of incidence of 30 , the angle of
reflection is also 30. And same with
other given measurements

The distance of the object from the

mirror is equal the image formed in
the mirror
Because of the reflection that we
observed

How a light bounces back as it hits

the surface of the plane mirror?
Can you draw it?

Ok, lets identify the parts of what

you drawn
What is this (pointing to the incident
ray)?

Reflection is the bouncing of light rays

as it hits surface
As the light strikes on the shiny
surface, the tendency of the light is to
reflect.

Describe incident ray

Very good
Sir, incident ray
How about this (pointing to the
reflected ray)
Describe reflected ray.

Incident ray, the ray of light

approaching the mirror represented by
an arrow approaching an optical
element like mirror.

Very good answer

What does imaginary line represents
Can you describe normal line?
Tremendous!
What did you notice on the incident

Reflected ray
Sir reflected ray, is a ray of light that
leave the mirror and represented by
an arrow pointing away from the

ray and reflected ray and normal

line to state the first law of
reflection?
Wow thats the best response I
heard this day.
Rancho would please repeat the first
law of reflection
Very good
Lets go back to the set C
How does angle of incidence
compare with angle of reflection

mirror

The imaginary line represents the

normal line that
Normal line sir, it can be drawn
perpendicular to the surface of the
mirror at the point of incidence where
thee ray strikes the mirror

How did you know that?

The incident ray and reflected ray and

normal line lie on the same plane.

Magnificent! That is another law of

reflection

Sir, The incident ray and reflected ray

and normal line lie on the same plane.

But can you point to us the angle of

incidence and angle of reflection?
What is angle of incidence?
How about angle of reflection?
Ok again, Ana please repeat the
second law of reflection
Now can you give me applications of
reflection?
Application
(3 minutes)

How it is related to the concept of

reflection?

When we compare the angle of

incidence it is equal to angle of
reflection
Because from the activity as we turn
on the laser with angle of incidence of
30 for example the angle of reflection
of reflection is also equal to 30
degrees

(The student will point out the angle of

incidence and angle of reflection)

Who else?

Angle of Incidence (i) the angle of

the incident ray to the normal

Another?

Angle of Refection (r) the angle of

the reflected ray to the normal

Ok, very good class thats the

applications of reflection that we
need to be familiar with.

The angle of incidence is equal to the

angle of reflection
Sir we have application in cosmetic

Now, what have you learned this

morning?
It is related sir, because without
reflection cosmetics wont be possible

In vehicles, It can also use by the

drivers, because they need side
mirrors in order to see the approaching
vehicles to avoid accident

Generalizatio
n
(2 minutes)

Imagine the world without reflection

as in the mirror, what would it be?
Can you make a hugot about this

In astronomy sir, especially in

Telescopes in order to see celestial
bodies accordingly.

concept?
Ok, who else?
Values
integration

Sir we learned about the laws of

reflection which are
The incident ray and reflected ray and
normal line lie on the same plane (the
1st law of reflection) and The angle of
incidence is equal to the angle of
reflection
(The 2nd law of reflection). We also
learned the applications of reflection in
different field like for instance in
cosmetics, transportation and
astronomy

Ok, very good class, thats nice

hugot I heard this morning.

I think sir is lifeless

Yes sir, without reflection we cant see
the beauty of the world
The moment I look at you with my
eyes, is the moment you reflected me
the love through your eyes.
IV. Evaluation (10 minutes)
A. Evaluate the following situations (2 points each).
a.) If Raman stands 3 feet in front of a plane mirror, how far from person (Raman) will his
image be located?
b.) If the toddler crawls towards a mirror a rate of 0.25 m/s, then at what speed will be the
toddler and toddlers image approach each other?
B. Label with each component the reflection in mirrors. Choose the answers from the box.
