I have recently learned Alma Public Schools is seeking to hire an instrumental music
teacher and I am writing to express my interest in applying for this position. I have
learned of this opening from a posting on the GreatSchoolJobs.com web page. The
posting on this web page suggested Alma is seeking to hire a teacher who desires
to build a K-12 unified program. I firmly believe the strongest music programs are
those that are unified and consistent from the elementary level to the high school
level. I am a new graduate of Alma College with a degree in Music Education. This
past semester, I completed my teaching internship at Alma Public Schools where I
had the opportunity to teach students ranging from sixth grade beginners to high
school seniors. I also became accustomed to handling the many organizational
aspects involved with the direction of a class C band program. The preparation I
have undergone while at Alma College allows me to feel confident and enthusiastic
towards entering the teaching profession. I will continue to help the cohesion of the
band program and community to create a positive experience for Alma.
I look forward to participating in the interview process for the instrumental music
position at Alma Public Schools. I will be in contact within the following two weeks
to inquire more about this position and the interview procedure.
