UFO Haunts Villagers

Ten years ago today, for a brief but interesting time, Covington County became the flying
disc capital of the Southeast. It all started when a farmer named James Daniels and his 15-yearold son, Mark, told the Covington County Sheriff's Department that a strange flying object
appeared and landed in a plain area at Mosley and Whitworth roads.
James Daniels, 39, told authorities that night that the two of them went outside to search
for the object moments after they saw it touch ground. He said it seemed to be grey, with a
"padded'' effect on the surface. Also it looked like it was flat on the bottom and cone-shaped
towards the top, with small lights all around the edges emitting a flickering purple-ish color
that intensified and turned green from time to time. According to the police, Daniels said: "I
heard the sound of a whistle something like the old steam engines. Then this object went up in
the air, hovered directly over us and disappeared.''
3 years later, Officer Derek Garcia of the Maxwell Village Police Department reported
then that he saw what he described to be the same object after he parked his car near the area. He
said it suddenly appeared just above his car at a about 1,000 feet in the air, that it had blue and
green lights on it that sometimes had a reddish shade, and that it hovered over the car before
continuing flying over the field. Garcia reported that he observed the object for a few minutes
before it was joined by two other others that flew beside it, one at each side. Then they
disappeared into the sky.
So what was it?
Nobody knows for sure. It was either a craft that came from outer space, an
extraterrestrial, or some sort of one-dimensional device.
The mystery hasnt been solved yet. This case is 10 years old, and yet it still continues to
occur, with sightings every once in a while
