Electronic devices have a regular performance in specific temperature
ranges; exceed this range may result in failures and potential damage to the unit. Several problems can influence this situation, such as: old heat sink technology, lack of investment and maintenance, among others. One way to avoid the excessive increase in temperature of the central processing unit is to optimize the heat dissipation system. It is known that air is not a good thermal conductor. Because of this problem comes the watercooler. The system is based automotive engine-cooling, where the heat transfer through the water which is 24 times the air, facilitates the cooling of the processor. The watercooler is already deployed at an affordable price, but in environments where conditions are severe, the equipment must include features to prioritize a more efficient heat transfer. As a proposal, we compare the performance of a CPU equipped with aircooler against a watercooler with observing the installation cost, power consumption, unit performance and the temperature range during processing software. It also seeks to analyze different types of watercoolers on equal terms. At first, it is perceived that the working temperature declines as the water used in the system has a higher thermal conductivity. The system will work more quietly than aircooler due to lack of fans. There was a reduction in temperature of 2.8%, 5.34% and 9.95% overclocking process with the processor idle, running and being stressed to the maximum, respectively, providing the best results in the process, since the temperature work processing unit decreased. The lower the working temperature of a chip, the greater its useful life, and therefore your income. On computers of continuous use, adopt a watercooler may be the most profitable output.
