MY MISSION STATEMENT

For the past five- years my husband and I have had the privilege of facilitating the couples
in our church. Our goals have been to help them to focus on the reasons they decided to marry and
learn other new necessary skills to strengthen the bond of togetherness that holds marriages together

My husband and I saw the need for couples at our church to learn new ways to eliminate
arguing and promote healthy listening and talking skills so that you can earn how to resolve issues
by compromising with each other.
Only about fifty percent of the clients who seek professional counseling for their troubled
marriage emerge with well-functioning marriages that last over three- years (All About
Counselling.com ( Getting the Professional Help You Need ), n.d.). More than 55 percent of couples
worldwide have taken advantage of some form of family counseling (All About Counselling.com
( Getting the Professional Help You Need ), n.d.).
At least 25 percent benefitted from the counseling and went on to have successful
marriages. Most of the couples who participated in therapy or marriage counseling received the
necessary tools from a therapist that help them to work through some of their marital problems and
teach new ways to address their issues (All About Counselling.com ( Getting the Professional Help
You Need ), n.d.).
The author Derek Bok examines how government could use the rapidly growing research
data on what makes people happy --- In a variety of policy areas to increase to increase well-being
and improve the quality of life for all of their citizens (Bok). Bok looks at the policy implications
for economic growth, equality, retirement, unemployment, health, family programs, education, and
government quality among other quality, among other subjects (Bok). Timely and incisive (Bok).

MY MISSION STATEMENT

Bok looks at the policy implications for economic growth, equality, retirement,
unemployment, health care, mental health, family programs, education, and government (Bok). The
politics of happiness sheds new light on what makes people happy and how government policy
could foster greater satisfaction for all (Bok).
The non- government agency that I chose to write about is the Christian church. Within the
church there are several non- governmental entities.

The Church provides good examples of Gods plan for Marriage (Buster Dean Akers,
2012). the Church is the means by which God guides couples in the format of a marriage (Buster
Dean Akers, 2012). God placed so much importance on marriage that He compares the relationship
of the husband and the wife with the relationship Christ has with the Church (Buster Dean Akers,
2012).

After completing my Bachelorette program in Humans Service I plan is to further my

education by enrolling in a graduate program for a Masters degree in Marriage and Family
Therapy. This type of degree will give me the knowledge and the opportunity and the necessary
tools to help develop and strengthen the institution of marriage, As previously stated, I have worked
with married couples and have had much success introducing effective communication, positive
plans for couples to spend quality time together and ways to include date nights and time alone with
your spouses.
My dreams and aspirations for this program is to provide spiritual leadership to couples to
increase their need to be married my husband and I had a few that caused us to seek marriage

MY MISSION STATEMENT

counseling during this time I realized my ability to self- diagnose and resolve tough issues within
marriages during a time that I was faced with many marital challenges of my own.

In the next two years I also plan to write a proposal to send out to every church in Indiana
to help them establish their own Marriage Enrichment program. According to the Bible God honors
marriage. With those words in mine I would like to develop my program to reiterate the importance
of incorporating Gods word and prayer in marriage. This should help foster biblical change and
alleviate the things that couples did in the past that caused arguments and negative feedback in
marriages. One my favorite ways to teach couples is to help them to rekindle the feelings they
shared while dating.
