Point

The point on a map

I chose this because it is easy to relate to and very easy to find if

you know what your looking for

a point is a dot in any given space that can show location of

coordinates

Line

Yellow lines on the road

I chose this because the lines seem like they go on and on

forever in the same path

For instance, in analyticgeometry, alinein the plane is

oftendefinedas the set of points whose coordinates satisfy a
given linear equation

Plane

The highway

I chose the highway because it is a flat surface that many thing

lie on

A plane is flat surface on which points lie on

Segment

Road work signs

I chose Road work signs because every 500 feet there will be
another sign showing you that you are coming closer

A segment is formed by two points and it is the distance between

those two points

Ray

A stop sign

I chose a stop sign because at a stop sign is where a new road

begins and that is your stopping point and the next rod will
continue

A ray has a point on one direction and the other direction seems
to go on forever

Collinear points

Speed limit signs

I chose this because the lie along the highway which is the same
line and there are many of them

Collinear points are points that lie on the same line

Acute angle

A curve on a road

I chose this because curves on a road are usually very sharp and
less than 90 degrees

An acute angle is an angle that measures less than 90 degrees

Obtuse angle

A boat ramp

I chose this because if you look at a boat ramp it slowly gets less
and less steeper as you go down this a creating an angle

An obtuse angle is an angle that measures more than 90 degrees

Right angle

A chair

I chose this because if you look at a chair it usually forms a right

angle

A right angle is an angle that measures 90 degrees exactly

nothing more and nothing less

Perpendicular Lines

A 4 way stop sign

I chose this because a 4 way stop the highways are intersecting

to make 4 right angles

Perpendicular lines form whenever two lines intersect creating

right angles

Complementary angle

A design on a window pane

I chose this because most designs on a window pane is split and

equals up to 90 degrees

A complementary angle adds up to 90 degrees

Supplementary Angles

A road off of the highway

I chose this because often when your going down the road your
on you will turn down another road creating supplementary angle

A supplementary angle is when two angles add up to 180

degrees

Vertical angles

An intersection

I chose this because at an intersection all the roads create

congruent angles

Vertical angles make congruent lines
