Lesson 4
Introduction:

Students will form groups of three for this lesson.

Students seated at a computer will go to the WebQuest page: michaelanabelrecycling.weebly.com


and click on the Lesson 4 tab.

Students will read the opening quote from Cy, the student objectives and what will be required of
them in the lesson.

Teacher will facilitate to allocation of an iPad between each group.

Step 1: Students watch three different advertisements about recycling and answer the following
questions:
o What is the message they are trying to get across?
o What have they used to make you want to watch it?
Step 2: Pick one piece of household rubbish. Using Word, brainstorm some ideas for an
advertisement that the students could make and the message they want to portray.
Step 3: Find online or create a jingle to accompany the advertisement. Websites with examples are
provided.
Step 4: Using the iMovie app on the iPad, students will create their own advertisement (max 1
minute long)
Step 5: Once complete, email the advertisement to the classroom teacher

Lesser ability students: Can create a more simpler slideshow video with accompanied music
Conclusion

Close WebQuest and log-off computer.

Close iPad and return to charging station

Sit quietly at desk and wait for next lesson to begin.
