_______________________s Career Portfolio

Dear Parents,
Over the next few weeks, your child will be creating a Career Fair Project (also
known as the 5th grade Career Portfolio). Throughout this project they will be conducting
research and presenting information about a career that interests them or a career they
want to learn more about. This project will be worth a total of 300 points and will
account for numerous social studies, reading, and language arts grades. The completed
Career Fair Project will be due Thursday, April 21st. After the projects have been
submitted, their visuals will be set up for the school to tour. This School Career Fair and
class presentations will be held in May (the specific date has not been determined).
This project WILL be worked on in class and at home. In class this past week,
each student chose the career they want to complete their research on. They will create
the ten interview questions they will be using to carry out their research. These
questions will be based off of their interest in the career and rubric they will be graded
on. Most have even started conducting the research needed to create their project.
Please familiarize yourselves with the project schedule and expectations on the
back of this page. By signing this form you are acknowledging you know and understand
what is expected of your child. Please let me know if you have any questions.
