Comments:
To date, you have 4.5 total absences (2.5 school-related, 1 personal, 1 sick) recorded in AESOP.
There is substantial evidence of parent communication within the emails you provided. Within that form of written
correspondence, you are prompt, professional and positive. Parent questions are answered promptly and provide clarity related to
the Honors American Literature summer assignment and your participation in the BYOT pilot. Additionally, you also utilize
email to correspond with students specifically about their assignments, like an outline in speech and feedback related to a written
assignment.
As a teacher within the BYOT pilot, you attend professional development opportunities that expose you to new ways to
implement technology to enhance learning. Your teacher website is utilized to provide a plethora of resources for students and
their parents/guardians.

The objective was verbally identified after collecting the Transcendentalist/Materialist Mission Statement assignment. It was not
displayed in writing within the classroom. Clear expectations for this assignment were presented in the packet of materials that
included a rubric, sample statement, and resources to help students as they take notes and cite sources.
Planning was demonstrated in the materials and technology referenced in the lesson. Students were prepared to turn in the
assignment and you then immediately transitioned in to the review game. Copies of study materials were made available for
those who needed them.
Technology, specifically the Smart board to interact with the online game Who Wants to be a Materialist?, was appropriately
utilized to review the Transcendentalists Unit.

Students were engaged in the review activity as they participated in the hot seat as well as at their desks. The activities to earn
a spot in the hot seat were designed to challenge students understanding of vocabulary and engage all students.
Throughout the review activity, you extended the responses to create a brief discussion to encourage understanding beyond
recall. You highlighted that students would be expected to demonstrate this level of understanding on the exam. A reference to
the website for study materials was made for all students.
Feedback was specific and individualized and encouraged students to participate. I have faith in you. You will be fine.
