MathNext week in math class we will have a decimal scavenger hunt! We keep reviewing decimals as many students are
having trouble. We also take a timed test every Wednesday on
decimals. We will have Topic 15 test on Monday next week!
IXL is a great place to review

Reading

Next week, we will be doing a Historys Mysteries

Unit. We will be researching mysteries. For example, the Bermuda Triangle and Amelia Earhart are two mysteries as well as
others. We also will take a Lexile test!

GrammarWe are reviewing next week and will take a Unit

5 grammar quiz on Thursday.

Writing DARE essays have been turned in and a winner

will be announced soon. Officer Haskin will make the selection
next Tuesday.

SpellingWe will not have a spelling test next week, but here
are the words for after spring break! If you want to start studying early!!

Social Studies We continue to study the Revolutionary

War. Students played a Guess Who game of important figures

during this time. We also watched Liberty Kids which is a short
video about these events in history. Students have been given
the study guide. The test will be next Thursday

Science

We have started a new unit on Biotechnology. This

is a short unit. There will be no test. However, students can
get points for participation. Right now they are making a PowerPoint of how an item has been changed over time with technology.

Camp Amigo

Please turn in papers and money as soon as possible.

Parents should have received a paper about a
meeting on April 11th. This is an informational
meeting for chaperones. If you can not attend, please
let me know.

Note From the Teacher:

A last call for adult chaperones was today. Next week the fifth grade teachers need to
make final arrangements for our trip. We will make cabin assignments as well as send a final
number to the staff at Camp Amigo. Please note that this is an earned trip per the Triton Handbook...At Triton we believe that the study trip enhances classroom learning. Participation on
trips requires that each student follows the rules, completes class work, and put for effort in
reaching class goals. If a student fails to complete assignments, or has a pattern on inappropriate behavior he/she may be denied the opportunity to go on the trip. (Triton Handbook)
If you have not turned in your Camp Amigo papers please due so as soon as possible.
Money needs to be in by April 8th. Contact me if this is a problem.
