GI Ductwork in this scope generally includes all types of Supply Air Duct, Return Air Duct, Fresh & Exhaust Air and their accessories such as fire dampers, volume control dampers, splitters damper, backdraft dampers, motorized smoke fire damper, access door, silencer, vibration isolators, flexible connections, diffusers, grilles and register, louvers, sound attenuators, Insulation, cladding, including ductwork fittings, elbows, offsets, transformation ) pieces, branch off, tee connection, turning vanes etc. | Method Statement for Built-in Duct and Fire Rated Ductwork shall be submitted separately. Materials should be positioned correctly so as to avoid crushing and minimize the risk of damage. Deliveries to site should be closely align to the fabrication and installation schedule, 50 as to avoid accumulation of unfixed ductwork, each accessory and minimize double handling that may be possible of causing dent or damage of material. All materials delivered to the site will first be inspected by QC inspector, Site Supervisor/Site Engineer and Store keeper to check if is in accordance to site requirements and material approval The inward material delivery to site (MDS) inspection will be carried out in accordance with relevant ITP, QA/QC plan and procedures Any materials found not as per purchase orders, material approval & DW144 construction standard shall be immediately return to the supplier's facility. Site Engineer/Supervisor must prepare all the materials, equipment and tools that will be necessary during the execution time. 7.1.8 Site Engineer/Supervisor has to check all the materials before bringing to site must be free from any damages through material handling and storage. Setting-out 7.2.1 For rectangular duct opening through walls and floors a temporary plywood box outs shall be provided as per approved builder's work drawings prior to concrete casting and shall be remove during duct erection. 7.2.2. Basically prior to execution of ductwork installation and support system, the setting out of the installation shall be conducted onsite to determine the actual position of ductwork route, equipments, dampers, access doors, sound attenuators, and other duct accessories. Setting out to determine the position of duct hangers & supports shall be also included. From the common reference point, Site Engineer/Supervisor mark out on the concrete walls, soffits, or slab the position of the anchor bolts insert, including the hanger driling location. Drill the anchor bolts marking in the walls, slabs & shaft for fixing supports as per determined above. Fix the anchors and threaded rods with approved hangers / structural supports as applicable. Threaded rod length shall be sufficient to allow for leveling of air duct. All duct layouts shall be rigidly supported from the building structure by means of hangers. Use only approved type of hangers schedule for installation of air duct work. Any welding works to building structure for duct & accessories ‘support system will not be permitted unless otherwise approved by relevant parties. Duct hanger for the installation works shall be lovated as close as possible to concentrated loads imposed by branch connections. Duct hangers/ supports shall be located as near as possible to horizontal changes in direction. The location of duct hanger and support are principally located to maintain the desired position and shall be as uniform as possible that will not change and set permanently all horizontal support suspended ducts shall be hung using adjustable duct hanger with bolted hinged loops. The outline of the works shall be explained in details and the distribution of the works will be arranged within the group. All working area shall be identified and works shall not be commenced without prior instruction from Site In-charge. All works to be carried out shall refer to the approved shop drawings present at site at any time for inspection purposes. 8.2.1 G.l. sheet fabrication for air ducts shall be accordance with HVCA Specification for Sheet Metal Duct Works (DW/144) as stated below. 8.2.2 First determine the specific duct pressure classification as indicated in the ductwork approved Shop Drawings. Please refer to clause 8.3 & 8.4 for detail insulation procedures. 8.2.10 Construct & install duct system with minimum or fewest possible joints. 8.2.11 Duct installation shall be airtight and include necessary reinforcements, bracing, support framing, gaskets, sealing and fastening to provide rigid construction and free from vibration, airflow induced motion, noise and excessive deflection at specified maximum system air pressure, 8.2.12 Provide mounting and supporting of ductwork and accessories including, but not limited to structural supports, hangers, clarrps, and brackets access doors and dampers.
