you can apply in your
classroom to
strengthen phonics,
spelling, and reading:
Teaching the
importance of phonics
skills, Decoding
Words, and Red
Words

Teachers will learn


how project-based
learning promotes
both critical
thinking and a focus
on rigorous
content in order to
challenge
students to go
deeper in their
learning.

Arts integration is
instruction that integrates
content and skills from the
arts (dance, music, P.E.,
STEM, and visual arts) with
other core subjects. The
special area team will
discuss how to
collaboratively create
lessons that will provide rich
arts integration experience
for all students.

how and when to
incorporate math
talks into your
lessons and how to
find math talks that
are appropriate for
your students.

We will review
"STEM Burst"
expectations, go
over how to
access the pacing
charts/resources,
and determine
dates for the
bursts that will
occur after each
science unit.

Aho/Weiss will work with
teachers to get STEM Burst
scheduled on the calendar.
