nos, manzanas, ciruelas pasa, chabacanos y
azúcar, dando como resultado un brebaje de
consistencia y sabor singulares.
Para Oaxaca, un estado con altos índices
de marginación que se sostiene sobre todo
del comercio y el turismo, la industria del
mezcal es muy importante por la gran can-
tidad de empleos y divisas que genera su ex-
portación a distantes destinos de América,
Europa y Asia.

gen indígena y parte de nuestra identidad
que localmente no puede faltar en arreglos
de noviazgos, bodas, cumpleaños, fandan-
gos, fiestas patronales, solución de conflictos
agrarios y velación de difuntos, y que a decir
de los entendidos cura la gripa, la calentura
y prolonga la vida sexual de quien lo consu-
me, vive hoy su mejor época y ha puesto a
México, lo mismo que muchas otras de nues-
tras riquezas, en los ojos y en el corazón del
mundo.
