Special Volunteer at National Institutes of Health (NIH)

Laboratory of Neurogenetics, National Institute of Aging

Member of a bioinformatics team studying the genetic origins of Parkinson s disease, researching
ways to visualize and analyze three-dimensional diseased mouse brain reconstructions from twodimensional slices in order to understand morphological and potentially functional changes of
mouse brain structures.

Co-authored a poster titled Parkinsons Disease-related LRRK2 Regulates the

Compartmentation of Murine Striatum, which was presented at NIHs 2015 summer poster day
Presented a review of a paper entitled Understanding the three-dimensional world from twodimensional immunohistological sections to more than 20 members of the lab, sparking further
interest, knowledge sharing and insight into the task of 3D brain reconstruction.
Worked with and developed extensions for various three-dimensional reconstruction software,
including microDimensions Voloom, Arrivis Vision4D, and Bitplane Imaris; Co-developed a lab
protocol to standardize the usage of these tools.
Worked with the biostatistics software R and Matlab and their respective programming
interfaces in order to analyze and present data.
Helped in developing a data pipeline between multiple pieces of software in order to streamline
and optimize the brain reconstruction process.
Worked with multiple software companies to compare products and determine if it is an
