Discurs TM IDEST

Hello, everyone, and thank you for giving me the

chance to be here, in front of you, and sharing with
you my life story, the 5 minutes version!
You know, my childhood dream was to become an
actor. I was simply in love with the idea of starring in
movies, playing the good looking guy, kissing the
actresses, facing the danger and so on. But one after
the other, friends and family insisted in discouraging
me on a constantly basis: Oh, dear, dont become an
actor cause youll barely stand up for a decent living!,
Good God, recover your senses, human! Do you want
to remain permanently on a run, restlessly and
abandoned? and so on and so forth. And here I am,
having been offered the chance to start living my old
beloved dream. Thank you, guys!
Some explanatory notes are required. First, as you can
see, one of my hobbies is nanotechnology research.
No, it is not! Its fishing! I like sharing a warm and cozy
summer day with the lake, with its untold quietness
while putting order in my thoughts. Well, you have to
experience it in order to understand. Secondly, I must
draw-up this time line that Ill use further on. And in
the third place, Ill put a Russian accent on my speech,
both to add a little bit of fun and, of course, to cover
the fact that Im not so fluent in English.
Now, the feeling part! (dau drumul la sonor fundal
de balta cu broaste si buhai de balta, cuc etc. Peste,
vine vocea Domnului):
- What are you doing there, dear child?
- Fishing the most important moments of my life to
share them with my friends!
- And is there a good fish harvest? That is, are there
moments that you are most proud of?
- Well, God, Ive been better!
- Dont be sad, dear child, go on fishing!
- Thank you, God! Thank you!

Childhood period! Nikolai, where are you, ah, Nikolai,
do you want me to tell you how my childhood was? (el
raspunde, Yes!) Well, I was born in July, 1976, then

attended the kindergarten and the primary school in

the neighborhood, Doamna Ghica area, and after that
I graduated the Economic High-School no. 4 and
getting specialized into travel & tourism.

you want me.. to tell you about my teenage?
Which question have you answered to? (aplauze,
sper!) Now, lets get serious again! This was the time
when I entered and graduated the Faculty of
Commerce with the Academy of Economic Studies in
Bucharest. I experienced jobs such as Travel journalist,
Sales & PR Manager for a hotel and then several
positions within a commercial bank.

allow me, Ill give up to the Russian accent! Thank
you! This was the time when I got married and God
gave me the most important and wonderful present of
my entire life: one princess, named Lavinia, now aged
6.
(Pescuiesc al patrulea biletel). Darkness period! I feel
sad when I have to talk about this, but somehow I got
used to the idea that these are parts of my life, too.
Here are the moments when I faced some serious
problems with my job after which I was downgraded
and when I divorced and separated from my wife.

is the present time, where I had the chance to be
trained by a professional trainer and entered the most
beautiful and entertaining team Toastmasters IDEST!
