The NEXT wave in Endodontics

17 Feb 2016 9.00-12.00:

Place: ICCS : Manial Hall

Presented by: Prof. Peet Vader Vyver
Prof. of Endodontics; Faculty of
Johannesburg University South Africa

Dentistry-,

Credit hours: 3hours

Abstract: The WaveOne reciprocating system has set the
standard for ease of use and creating predictable endodontic
preparations for the last 5 years. The next generation of
reciprocating instruments, WaveOne Gold is taking these
advantages a few steps further.
Alternating (reciprocation) versus continuous rotation of nickel
titanium instruments has the following advantages: (1) less
binding of the instruments into the root canal walls with a
reduction in torsional stress; (2) decreased risk of instrument
fracture; (3) majority of cases a single-file can be used to
complete root canal preparation; (4) faster mechanical root
canal preparation allows the clinician to spend more time on
chemical debridement; (5) short learning curve for new users.
The WaveOne Gold system is also manufactured from super
elastic nickel titanium that provides the clinician with
approximately 50% more fatigue resistance and about 80%
more flexibility compared to conventional WaveOne files.
These excellent advantages will definitely change the way you
do root canal treatments in your practice!
This presentation will review and discuss the following:

Guidelines on how to use the new reciprocating

WaveOne Gold instruments clinically

Advantages of single file systems over multiple file

systems in preparing root canals without procedural errors

Place: Manial Hall
Credit hours: 6hours
Assoc Prof. M. Fouad, Head of
Operative Dentistry Dep, BUE
A PERFECT SMILE: The Power, the Passion, and the
Path to Success
Smile design means planning a perfect smile. It is
based on general principles of aesthetics, mathematics (about
proportions) and the sense of the dentist.
Key aspects for proper aesthetic evaluations of teeth
involved in the smile as well as appropriate treatment plans
are a comprehensive analysis of the face and the mouth and a
morphological study of proportions in comparison with the
patients character and emotional traits.
In recent years, smile design has become a crucial tool for
preliminary aesthetic assessments of patients mouth and face
features and proportions. Digital technologies, vital part of our
nowadays life, feed the whole system.
A systematic approach aimed at a correct diagnosis of
each clinical case is usually based on preliminary
assessments such as general medical history, general dental
evaluation, orthodontic assessment, functional objective
analysis, emotional smile analysis, assessment of aesthetic
expectations, aesthetic objective analysis (or smile analysis).
Objectives:
The participants will:
Learn different esthetic perspectives
Learn how to diagnose different types of smiles
Learn how to record and analyze dynamic and static
smile in a very simple and efficient way.
They will learn the importance of the display (teeth &
soft tissue)
They will learn about basic photo and video for smile
design
Discover the secrets of proportional smile analysis and
design

24

Learn how to do complete esthetic analysis (facial, lip,

gingival and dental)
Use esthetic analysis for diagnosis and treatment
planning
Identify instruments and materials that are pertinent to
esthetic restorations
Be introduced to the latest smile design concepts
Be introduced to Digital Smile Design concept &
program (DSD)
This course is a must for dentists wishing to achieve
predictable aesthetic success.
N.B: Every participant will get his own copy of the
power point template to use it in his own practice

Laminate veneers

18, 19 Feb. 2016

Place: Manial Hall
Credit hours: 6hours
18-19 Feb two parts each will be on 15:00-18:00 on
Thursday and Friday
Dr: Ahmed Soliman Idris.
BDS , MDS ,PHD (Cairo University)
Lecturer, Fixed Prosthodontics Dep., Cairo University.
Indirect ceramic laminate veneer is considered an ideal
conservative esthetic solution for many clinical
situations. Proper case selection is the key of success
for maximum esthetic, biological and mechanical results.
The objective of this presentation is to enable the dental
clinician to identify the risk factor/ clinical considerations,
which may affect the longevity and prognosis of ceramic
laminate veneer.
Moreover, the dentists should be able to differentiate
when to use laminate veneer and when to convert the
case to full coverage restorations.
