December 21, 2015 RE: Chelsea Hubbling To Whom It May Concern: My name is David Alati and I am the Principal of Norris Middle School in the Omaha Public Schools. The purpose of this letter is to provide a recommendation for Ms. Chelsea Hubbling who is currently serving as a Special Education Co-teacher at Norris Middle School. During the time that I have had the privilege of working with Ms. Hubbling she has proven herself to be a highly competent and professional educator. I first met Ms. Hubbling several years ago when she was completing her student teaching as a Special Education Resource teacher at Alice Buffett Magnet Middle School, where I was serving as an Assistant Principal. Even as a pre-service teacher, Ms. Hubbling began displaying desirable traits such as working well with her colleagues, a willingness to seek and receive feedback and the ability to build positive relationships with students. In recent years, Ms. Hubbling has continued to hone those skills while adding to her expertise as a Special Education teacher. Working in a co-teaching environment, Ms. Hubbling partners in the delivery of instruction and always keeps supporting her students needs at the forefront of her efforts. She manages her IEP caseload with efficiency and is always professional during meetings with parents. Along with her teaching duties, Ms. Hubbling has chosen to take on a variety of additional responsibilities at Norris Middle School. These include but are not limited to: serving as a co-sponsor for the Redbird Posse (drill team), assisting with grant work focused on creating a garden at the Norris Middle School and providing supervision at school events and athletic contests. In all of these roles, Ms. Hubbling has displayed the same level of dedication and commitment that she applies to her teaching. Ms. Hubbling also regularly participates in ongoing professional development opportunities and is part of one of teams that is piloting the Behavior Intervention Support Team (B.I.S.T.) model at Norris this year. Ms. Hubbling has created opportunities for herself to be involved at Norris Middle School and her strongest characteristics are definitely her work ethic, time management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. All of these traits will serve Ms. Hubbling well as she continues her work in the field of education. If you have questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
