Work History
FedEx Ground
Pittsburgh, PA
GIS Engineer IV
Building an enterprise Geographic Information System (eGIS) infrastructure that creates a set of common data,
services, and applications through REST services and the ArcGIS portal, using Scaled Agile Framework/Scrum
methodology.
Work closely with various FedEx business process owners to elicit and define the specific GIS functionality that
is required, and translate these needs into explicit requirements in the form of Features and User Stories.
Work closely with the FedEx GIS Information Technology team partners to clarify requirements and to add
additional details as required. Reach out to various organizations across FedEx to educate them on the value of
GIS capabilities and to work with them to integrate GIS capabilities into their business processes.
Conduct functional and user acceptance testing to ensure that our REST service and JavaScript application
products meet the need of the FedEx clients. Work closely with development to identify defects and create
repeatable test cases.
Create proof-of-concept applications that integrate eGIS services and functionalities into current workflows and
processes to demonstrate the value and potential of GIS. Create custom ArcGIS models and python scripts.
Conduct various analyses to assess third party data sources, development tools, and software functionalities.
Test geocode rates of customer addresses using customized ArcGIS tools and third party map data. Update
production maps and customize data to obtain more accurate geocoding and turn by turn routing.
Provide end user support for production GIS systems, applications, and data that provide operational support.
Administrative and postal GIS data subject matter expert that designs data schemas and update processes.
Create and update application user guides/manuals, team SharePoint site, and release notes/informational pages.
Performed GPS/IMU data collection, geocoding, attributes repair, quality assurance, and project management on
multiple international mapping projects.
