Activities:
Worksheet of questions concerning the first chapter of the book and vocabulary practice as a
review of chapter one and two.
Assessment:
This is a formative assessment. Talk through each question with the student to gain insight to
their thought process. Determine how well they are following the plot, what inferences and
predictions they are able to make and what higher order thinking skills they are able to utilize.
Observe their use of context clues and other strategies to determine the meaning of unknown
words.
