Thislabreportisaboutactionpotentialandtheelectricactivityinthenormalcellmembrane
environment,environmentsmodifybyvarioustoxins,andactionpotentialsobservedinhuman
reflexes.Inresponsetoastimulus,theexcitablecellmembraneofaneuroncellgoesfroma
restingstatetodepolarization,followedbyrepolarizationtothatrestingstateagain.
Depolarizationoccurswithinanervesodiumionsenterthecellandraisethechargefroma
negativetoapositivelevelreversingthestateoftherestingpotential.
Repolarizationoccurswhenthemembraneofaneuronbecomesmorepermeable,whichallows
potassiumionstodiffuseoutoftheneuroncausingthemembranetoreturntotherestingstate.
Afterrepolarization,theperiodwhentheaxonscantbestimulatedtogenerateanewaction
potentialiscalledtherefractoryperiodwhichlimitsimpulsestoanaverageof100persecond.

glabellars,andbabinski's.Whenwehitourbodyparttoseethereactionoccur,wewouldhave
tofindthecorrectspotanditwouldreacttothecontact.
