Meeting Minutes

Call to order at 1:05pm on December 14, 2015.

A meeting of the Grand Haven Croquet Board of Directors was held at Creekside on December 14, 2015.
Attendees included Cassandra Gaisor, Tony Dos Santos, Bill Todd, Naomi Mass, John Fitterman,
Antonia Marmo, George Betz.

Approval of minutes
The Minutes of the November 9, 2015 Board meeting were approved.

Reports
Treasurer Bill Todd Opening balance was $13,509.65 & closing balance is $13,361.11.

A lengthy discussion took place revisiting the past year as to what worked and what didn't work.
In summary what worked: Monday Games, Annual Dinner, New Court, Invitational
Tournament and the Play Day with Hammock Dunes. In summary what didn't work: Club
Championship, selection of the Invitational Tournament Director, continued closure of the
Village Center court.
A Handicap Adjustment Tournament is being projected to be held on March 18th, 19th or 20th,
2016 and will be a "no frills" event with the players responsible for just the $10. sanction fee.
This will only be for players with a handicap of 10 and under.
Election of new officers (President, Vice President, Secretary & Treasurer) will be held on
Tuesday April 19, 2016, which is also the annual meeting. An e-mail blast will be sent to the club
members after the 1st of the year asking for members to declare their willingness to serve on the
board.
Handicap adjustments (over 10) should be published on or shortly after December 15th, 2016.
Handicap adjustments by the Handicap Committee take place every three months.
Status of the next beginner's class has been left open.
Christmas presents were distributed by Tony Dos Santos on behalf of the Croquet Club to the
Creekside office personnel and those facilitators that regularly take care of our court needs.
Two bicycles were donated by the Croquet Club to the "Big Red Box" (same as last year).

Grounds & Equipment Village Center court is still closed for play.
Nominations e-mail blast being sent out in January 2016 asking for volunteers.
Logo Wear Linda has ordered various items & they will be delivered shortly.
Sunshine get well cards were sent to Marie, Mark, Ginny & Betty.
Education nothing to report
Handicaps - committee is about to publish revised handicaps

Director's Reports
Membership John Fitterman total membership is 85
Social Antonia Marmo all socials this past year were well attended and a success.
Tournaments George Betz he's in the planning stage for a Valentine's Day event to be held on
2/13/16.

There being no further business, a motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 2:45pm.
