Dance Course Outline


Materials Needed:

Water Bottle. NO POP OR OTHER LIQUID PERMITTED.


Binder/Lined Paper/Pen/Pencil - Brought with you to the last class of each week.
Dress Code:
1. Shoes - Indoor shoes, appropriate dance shoes - jazz/hip hop sneakers/foot undies
1.1.No character heels or shoes with heels.
2. Pants - Leggings, jogging pants, or dance shorts.

2.1.No jeans, mini shorts or skirts.

3. Shirts - Any comfortable shirt (tight or loose) that does not expose too much skin.
3.1. BELLY SHIRTS are NOT acceptable.

Attendance:
Attendance is mandatory. If you are absent for ANY reason, a note will be required or a
parent e-mail. If a teacher pulls you out of class, an email will be required from that teacher. Any
assignments missed or group work neglected, will have to be made up at a time discussed with the
teacher or discussed with the group members in their own time. If, for any reason, the student is
injured and unable to dance, a sit in will be required and a full report of the lesson learned and
observed will be typed and submitted the following class, via USB or GoogleDOCS.

Performance in June is mandatory and a costume must be purchased.

Safety Precautions:
NO JEWELLERY - Long necklaces, bracelets, large rings (hands or feet), large earrings.
NO FOOD
NO DRINKS - ONLY WATER.
HAIR - Off your face. Ponytail, bun, etc. Must be able to see your eyes.
CLOTHING - Clean. We will be working in close proximity.

Additional Notes
Notify the teacher of any ailments or previous (sports) injuries
Foot Odour - put baby powder in your shoe!
Warts/Corns, etc. - COVER THEM completely

Hygiene - Bring deodorant with you to class or keep inside your bag for transitions.
Classroom Rules:
Respect each other and treat everyone as you would want to be treated.
Do not take personal photos or videos without notifying the teacher and/or students.
Try your best in any situation. You get out what you put in.
Bring all required material to class.
Follow safety precautions.
Positivity is KEY.
Before Class:
You will have 3-4 minutes to change in the changing rooms located down the corridor,
then proceed to Studio B. Quickly and Quietly through the hallway.
Take your outdoor shoes off and line them along the wall on the rug underneath
BEFORE coming in.
**LOCK ALL VALUABLES IN YOUR LOCKER OR BRING THEM INTO THE
CLASS**
