A simple PUFFY Text Effect Tutorial

Materials used on Tutorial:
1. Royal Blue Background
2. Cooper Blk HD BT
3. Bristle1 brush

1. Open the 1600 x 1200 Background image, then create your Text
using a rounded Font, Im using Cooper Blk HD BT with a size of 350px.
Adjust the Letter Spacing to 60.0 and add 005fff as the color.

2. If youre satisfied with horizontal angle of the Text you may or rotate the Text layer
using the Rotating tool diagonally like shown. Then right click the layer and select Layer
to Image size.

Like the most of my Text Effect Tutorials Ill be using The Script-fu Plugin LayerFx, so
lets start shall we.

Make sure you Highlight or be on the Original layer before you apply
the Filters
in order for the Effects to work, unless instructed otherwise.
3. Script-fu>Layer Effects>Inner Shadow

4. Script-fu>Layer Effects>Inner Glow

5. Script-fu>Layer Effects>Pattern Overlay

6. Now on this filter, Highlight the Pattern Overlay layer and go to

Script-fu>Texture>Patchwork

7. Highlight the Inner Glow layer and apply-Script-fu>Layer Effects>Satin

8. Now Highlight the Pattern Overlay layer again

and apply -Script-fu>Layer Effects>Bevel and Emboss

9. In this step were going to create a Jagged edge on the outskirt of the Text. First click
the Original layer,
then Right click and select Alpha to Selection and go to Select>To Path

10. Select>None and create a New layer on top the Original layer. Change the Foreground
color to 90cbef,
then grab the Bristle1 brush with a size of>20.00, and change the Spacing>48.0.

11. In the New layer well use the Path, so go to Edit>Stroke Path,
click on Stroke with a Paint Tool and uncheck, Emulate Brush Dynamics, click ok.

12. Two more filters to give it a better look. Highlight the Path layer,
it should be the one we didnt give a name, then go to Script-fu>Layer Effect>Satin

13. And the last filter were going to apply is a Drop Shadow,
so Highlight the Path layer and apply, Script-fu>Layer Effect>Drop Shadow
