A. By looking at the cover of the book, why do you think the book is called L.A.
Winners? Justify your answers (2-3 lines). Use your own words.
I think the book its called L.A because it is the city where the story
takes place, Los Angeles. The second word is because the story is about
racing horses, the horses win the races, and specially The Chief, who was
a winner.

Write an alternative ending to the story (35-60 words). Use your own words.
Lenny Samuel went to the security office and told Slim that Lou Weaver was lying on
the floor in stable 14, and told him to call an ambulance because someone had shut
him. Lenny picked up the phone and call Sandy.
-Sandy, you are in danger, leave the ranch right now, Dick is on his way to the ranch
and he wants to kill you, Lenny said.
Sandy, took her car and drove out of the ranch as quick as she could but when she was
about to reach the freeway, she saw the red 4x4, it was Dick. He saw her also and
started to pursue her. There were both cars driving so fast in a road with a lot of bends,
it was very dangerous. Suddenly, Lenny appeared with his car and started to hit Dicks
car to try to take him out of the road. Sandy was very afraid but at the same time she
could not stop thinking about The Chief and Low Weaver, she was very worried about
them. After ten minutes of car chasing, Dicks car skidded off the road and Dick and
Ventanas were thrown away. Sandy was safe.
