and one fact about each group

Class discussion

(sitting on carpet)Introduce flags

by showing the Canadian and
Alberta flags. Explain how these
flags represent our Province and
Country.
Look at the flags of the Inuit,
Acadians and Ukrainians. Ask
students what they notice about
the flags and how they think these
flags represent the three cultures.
Have students go back to their
desks.Instruct them to create their
own flag that represents who they
are. Use colours that represent
who they are and images that
would help people to identify
them. (Show example of a flag I
created that reflects who I am)

Tell students what we will be doing

in lesson three. After lesson three

Reflection
The first class in this lesson went well. Students were way more engaged and seemed to grasp the concept of creating a flag that represents them.
For the seond class in this lesson I need to make sure students are silent and focussed before I start talking. This was the biggest obstacle I found with this lesson.
Over all I am very happy with how it went, and my confidence was much better today!
