I have worked closely with Hannah for these past few semesters as fellow SI

leaders and feel confident expressing my full support for her nomination for
Outstanding SI Leader Award.
Hannah embodies the qualities of caring, diligence and passion expected of
an SI leader. When I first started out as an SI leader, Hannah helped me transition
and adapt to the challenges of supplemental instruction. I remember approaching
her during semester training feeling nervous about the new job and doubting my
potential. However, Hannah encouraged me to believe in myself and that the only
way of learning is by making mistakes. Today, I am able to learn from failures and
be a better SI leader because of her. In addition, Hannah is a diligent student.
Having to juggle three majors while serving as committee in a cooperative housing,
Hannahs commitment to her duties is never meagre. Hannah shows up on time to
my sessions and her critique is never lacking. I remember receiving feedback from
her about learning my students names and being more enthusiastic. I am able to
better my sessions because of her commitment to help other SI leaders improve.
Finally, Hannah is very passionate about her career. I have observed many of her
sessions and she always tries to make math fun for her students. Hannah would
spend hours trying to come up with creative activities and sometimes it pays of
sometimes it doesnt. However, she learns from taking risk, all in an efort to help
her students learn math.
In conclusion, Hannah is a helpful, hardworking and driven SI leader. She is a
valuable asset to the Purdue Student Success Department and her contributions are
invaluable in setting the benchmark for many SI leaders. I hope you consider her as
a competitive candidate for such award.
