OBJECTIVE
At the conclusion of this Exercise, the student will be able to draw a schematic of a one stage
common emitter transistor amplifier using PSpice as a discrete circuit.
PROCEDURE
For all steps, generate a hard copy of the schematic and the Probe output. Enter a Title Block
for all schematics with the proper name. The schematic must be centered in the page, and
drawn with proper layout and spacing. The part values for all components are shown on the
schematic.

PROCEDURE
1.
Create a New Blank Project named ce_amp
Draw the single stage common
emitter
amplifier
schematic
diagram similar to the one shown
on the right.
After you enter Q2N2222:
CR on the transistor
CL on the transistor
CR the CL on Edit the PSpice
Model.
Enter the model values listed
above.
Close the Model editor and accept
all dialog box defaults
Create a New Simulation
Profile named ce_amp
Select AC Sweep/Noise for the
Analysis Type
Enter the Start Frequency, End
Frequency, and Points/Decade as
shown on the right.
CL on PSpice
Highlight Markers
Highlight Advanced
CL on db Magnitude of Voltage
CL and place the marker at the
node OUT

You should be able to determine the two critical frequencies from the Probe output..
Print the Probe output. Close Probe.
CL on the V and I buttons
on the PSpice toolbar
The quiescent (DC) voltages
and
currents
will
be
displayed on the schematic.
