PITCH- underarm motion using the opposite foot and opposite arm
STRIKE ZONE- the ball must be between the arm pits and the knees, anywhere over the plate.
FOUL- a hit that goes out of bounds, a fou! tip on the third strike does not count.
*A foul ball with 2 strikes does not mean batter strikes out. Strikes remain at 2.
FORCE: the runner must run! The fielder (base person) only has to tag the base.
NOT A FORCE- the runner does not have to run. They must be tagged out.
TAGGED OUT- you can tag a runner out any time when they are running from base to base or
if they over run 2™ or 3%,
FULL COUNT- when the batter has 2 strikes and 3 balls.
*Umpires always say the “balls” first and then “strikes”, Thus, “2 and 1” means 2 balls/1 strike
*The batter does NOT take first base for being ‘hit by pitch.”
