Worlds Largest Engine

The Wrtsil RT-flex96C is a two-stroke turbocharged low-speed diesel engine

designed by the Finnish manufacturer Wrtsil. It is currently considered the largest
reciprocating engine in the world, designed for large container ships, running on
heavy fuel oil. It stands at 13.5 metres (44 ft) high, is 27.3 m (90 ft) long, and
weighs over 2300 tonnes in its largest 14-cylinder version producing 109,000
brake horsepower (81,3 MW)

Technical Data of Engine:

Worlds Smallest Engine

Worlds smallest steam engine weights less than 2 grams have a height of 0.267
inches and a length of 0.639 inches. It weighs about 1.71 gm. The tiny engine has a
cylindrical body of brass with built in crankshaft bearings, piston, connecting rod
and valve mechanism.
Dr Iqbal said, "With steam generated by 10 cc water, this engine can run for about
two minutes. There is a separate boiler (45 mm high and 15 mm in diameter) which
has to be connected to the steam intake nipple through a 1.5 inch pipe. The boiler is
heated with an alcohol burner."
