Preface
All thanks and praise is due to Allah, we seek his help and forgiveness. We
seek refuge in Allah from the evil within ourselves and the consequences of
our evil deed. Whoever Allah guides will never be led astray, and whoever
Allah leads astray will never find guidance. I bear witness there is no God
but Allah, alone without partners and alone is his worship; I also bear
witness that Muhammad s.a.w. is his last prophet, slave & Messenger
Allah the exalted said, O you who have believed, fear Allah as he should
be feared and speak words of appropriate justice, he will then amend your
deeds and forgive you your sins, and whoever obeys Allah and his
messenger has certainly attained a great attainment [33:70-71]
The Premise behind the book is provoke thought expanded upon previous
commentaries as they relate to the issues of Muslims past, present & future
and to further disseminate these understandings onto unreached new
audiences both Muslim and Non-Muslim. Furthermore, when possible lend
some deeper understanding & insights in issues that are commonly taken
out of context & used in misleading ways to negatively misrepresent Islam.
In addition, also try to give a better comprehensive view point to new and
non-Muslims towards the din of Al-Islam (religion) both from an education
and historical viewpoint along with relevant commentary on a variety of
topics. This is by no way a source of public issued excuses for things that
have transpired under false-flag operations by outside or inside so-called
Islamic sources, but it is instead a comprehensive understanding of the

Introduction
Modern in all of its scientific advancements and technological ventures of
application into the daily lives of humanity has its benefits, which has made
life easier freeing up time and lessening the burden of labor; however with
all this has come corruption of every sortToday, the affluence of easy
living seems to be the target goal of society as it is promoted by the
Western world primarily. This desire and spread of materialism has caused
the morals of once deep seated values that were present 50yrs ago to
gradually escape the hearts and minds of the people.
Flashing back in time to another era where they too where hinged on trade
and the liberty of free-love and other blissful ignorance arose a man by the
Name Muhammad Ibn Abdullah who at the age of 40yrs fulfilled the
prophecy given to Mosess a.s. in Deuteronomy 18:18; Isaiah 21:12-17 &
Isaiah 42:1-13 which talks about:
2016
fought tooth & nail until war ensued amongst the tribes of Arabia putting
father against son, brother against brother, and so on
One among them who was initially resistant and had even after hearing
about his own Sister and her husbands conversion from idol worship to
Islam, caused such an up roar of anger within him that he set out to kill the
prophet s.a.w. Diverted briefly to deal with his own family first, he arrived at
the front door of their home to hear those inside reciting Surah TA HA of
the Quran. Bursting through the door, he attacked his family until he was
calmed after accidently hitting his sister who was defending her husband
against Umar r.a.. Taking a seat in calming himself he notices the scroll in
which they had the Surah (chapter written) and were reading from. Umar
r.a. requested to to see it, but not first after being told to bathe. He would
later read just a few verses of the Surah TA HA and he raised his head and
said, The one who says these words deserves to be worshiped alone.
Surah TA HA is noted for containing the entire Torah (that which was
revealed to Musa a.s.). Umar r.a. would prove to be just as strong in faith
as he was in his resistance to Islam initially
Umar radiyallahu anh was once with some of the Sahabah radiyallahu
anhum and he asked whether anyone of them could relate to him about
the fitnah(trials or corruption) which would soon come. And this which he
was referring to was not any ordinary fitnah, but rather that which would
come one after the other, like the waves of the ocean. Hudhaifah
radiyallahu anh replied to him (hearing first was he was going to say from
the Prophet s.a.w. himself) informed him that between him and that fitnah
was a closed door which would very soon be broken, never to be closed
again. This was a metaphor, and the door represented a man; its being
broken represented his death or his murder; the one referred to here was
the Amir al-Muminin himself Umar ibn Al-Khattb, Umar Son of AlKhattab, born c.583 CE died 3 November 644 CE), was one of the most
powerful and influential Muslim caliphs (successors) in history. He was a senior
Sahaba of the Islamic prophet Muhammad (saw). He succeeded Abu Bakr
(632634) as the second caliph of the Rashidun (rightly guided) Caliphate on
23 August 634. He was an expert Islamic jurisprudence known for his pious
and just nature, which earned him the epithet Al-Farooq ("the one who
distinguishes between right and wrong").. He was such a great personality that by
2016
virtue of his qualities alone, this great fitnah was averted for as long as he
remained alive
Such was his understanding and commitment that When ayat (verse) 3 of
Surah (chapter) of al-Maa'idah (the ladden table) was revealed to the
prophet s.a.w: "on this day have I perfected your religion [the Quran
completed the succession of revelation of Allah's religion Islam which all
prophets brought], and completed my favor upon you, and have chosen for
you al-Islam as your religion".
Most people were happy upon hearing it, but Umar ibn al-Khattab r.a.
began to cry, because he understood something most didn't consider at the
time..."there can only be after completion naqas (a diminishing or loss)".
The wisdom being so profound it has proven true in every age since then
until now 1437 yrs A.H. (after hijrah) Later...the deen isn't known or studied
deeply for its hidden treasures such as this nor studied and or protected
against fundamental groups who arise to under mind the truth of al-Islam
with philosophies or ideas of its non-application in a modern world therefore
let us take heed to what it is we have been given.
Ameen.

Character of people
" :
: ) ." "
"
(
The prophet s.a.w was asked, "What will be the main reason why people will enter
paradise?" He answered, "The consciousness of Allah (in everything we do) and
good character. He was then asked, "what we be the main reason why people enter
the hell fire?" He s.a.w. replied, "the mouth and the private parts"! (Reported by atTirmidhi and he said it was authentic from the prophet s.a.w. Hasan-Saheeh)
This Hadith is pretty much self-explanatory but there is something I would like to
point out that stirs this Hadith in its wisdoms that the translation misses... The
Arabic word al-farju specifically means the female private parts...also coupled
with al-famu (the mouth) meaning here speaking through conversation; really
defines this Hadith toward the women first...then the rest of humanity. Social
media, the telephone, etc. you name it we know most women love to converse
about any and everything (Allah bless them all), but we should help to remind each
other about the loose-ness of our words as well as the forgetfulness of our
responsibilities to what we say.
)
(
"The slaves of Allah (meaning people) sometimes utter a word without realizing
the impact. For this word he/she is sent down to hell (meaning punishable by those
words for they may often mislead people or cause other harmful consequences);
thereby moving close to its wrath farther [meaning in comparison to the amount of
distance between] than a distance of the east to the west."
The LAST defense of any society in decency lies with the morals and modesty of
the woman...after all society is nothing more than communities of which they are
nothing more than families and families nothing more than marriages and
marriages end with the individual. When our women are encouraged to dress less
2016
and an act in indecent ways the allure of their beauty spread far and wide literally
driving the society towards a lust-fully drunken state in severe cases. The first
teachers of individuals the influence of the mother begins Pre-natal and carries
over for a life time, if not neglectful parenting is otherwise conducted. In
Psychology society is hinged on the cohesiveness of the genders in moral decency
and the family unit, one reason why today we see the morality of our women
attacked physically and politically calling for the enforcement against such
attributes through legislation to out-right banned modesty if you will...Just 50 years
ago one was able to see catholic nuns who dressed in similar fashion, and 100
years ago the modesty fuller garments of clothing for both men & women. More
distinguished than these latter years who have degraded to the legality of
homosexuality and same sex marriage...These ideals and morals would have been
utterly disgusting to our predecessors who then still held on to deeper religious
values, but today that has all been abrogated by MAN...

Vulgarity comes from crudeness and crudeness leads to the hell-fire; decency
comes from belief and belief leads to paradise. (Related by ibn Hibaan, authentic
Hasan and Saheeh). So, without blame to either one stand-alone gender, we must
take into account the difference between ourselves and understand that we are not
the same. The normalcy of interaction and mingling is something that is quite
natural but lines and borders of decency are very easily crossed and water-down
the conscious with every encounter making it easier and more attractive for others
to follow suit. We all sin and we all need to be checked from time to time in order
to see ourselves from an outside perspective. The Muslim is a mirror to his
brother/sister and the best example to humanity. But, this is just not the case as we
take a look around. Our situation has degraded in the worst way despite the truth of
Islam and all the massive numbers of converts. Even with the rapid growth of
Islam its still a very difficult matter in bringing about cohesion among Muslim
groups. In my opinion, this is because the dawah (call to truth) is good at
conveying the truth in comparative religion efforts for Islam is undoubtedly the
truth; however after these initial hurdles are concluded the New Muslim isnt aided
in the actions of understanding further the gems of wisdoms that lie in the sciences
of Islam that answer the curiosities of humanity.
Therefore, many people then after group together according to common affiliations
which bypasses the true essence & beauty of Islam. With new converts and the
spread of the deen to different lands and cultures comes the danger of new
2016
Muslims not yet educated enough in the sciences of al-Islam bringing with them
remnants of their own culture and or ideologies therefore distort the fundamental
principles of the deen (religion).
Human character is something that is manipulative over time & influenced by our
environments which is easily seen in reproduction of pop-culture and new Western
values. This is actually something that is re-occurring as the early scholars after the
4 khulafa al-rasheedeen (the first 4 caliphs after the prophet s.a.w.), which
included the 3 righteous generations after the prophet s.a.w. who were still blessed
to have most of the companions of the prophet s.a.w. still alive and therefore it was
easier for them to correct the wrongs of people when necessary. Unfortunately,
later generations began to witness the weakening of Islam in the Umayyad
dynasties that began to be corrupted by worldly ways. Their corruption eventually
lead to the eradication of divine law, and this opened the door to all sorts of
facade...Islam was not spread by the sword as most people like to narrate it,
however it was by military conquest that truth conquerored falsehood. But, it was
the character of the Muslims who entered these lands, their justice, and immunity
to greed and corruption that had become such a huge part of those societies
occupied by foreign armies exploiting the wealth & resources. As a result Islam
was embraced and loved & never seen as an evil but as a liberator
Unfortunately, people who had benefited from old systems put in place in usurping
the people often accepted Islam to benefit from its protection and rights while
harboring their own inner feelings of seeking to sow discard from within. This
hypocrisy is still conducted today, and sadly even our own ignorances toward
jurisprudence (fiqh), tafsir and other sciences lend our current efforts to the
enemies in undermining al-Islam.
Rationalist and the spread of Islam
As a result Islam began to be injected with philosophy and opinions of new
Muslims who were bringing with them parts of what they were freed from. Free
will teachings began to spread by apostates of Islam who then turned to harm it in
the worst of ways, today it would be compared to treason something that most
governments punish by death penalty. Like those used by media networks today to
2016
put an ethnic face with Islam somehow adding value to their personal grievances.
Truth is they all need to join a long list of critics just to name a few:
9th century Persian scholar by the name Ibn Al-Rawandi (827-911 CE) who
was a Mutazalite (Sufi-ism) who repudiated Islam and as a revealed religion
all together, rejecting its authority of its scripture, complaining about its
rituals
Another Persian Muhammad Ibn Zachariah al-Razi (854-925 CE) was
heavily critical about the institution of prophet hood, belief in miracles and
the practice of obedience to religious principles against reason.
Even John Quincy Adams the 6th president of the United States wrote, In
the seventh century of the Christian era, a wandering Arab (Muhammad) of
lineage to Hagar (the Egyptian, [wife of Ibrahim a.s. and Mother to Ishmael
his 1st born]), combing the powers of transcendent genius, with pre-natural
energy of a fanatic, and the fraudulent spirit of an impostor, proclaimed
himself the messenger from heaven, and spread desolation & delusion over
an extensive portion of the earth.
Late 19th and early 20th century methods of higher criticism have shifted focus
from prophet-hood and principals to attacking the Quran itself as something not of
divine origin. (Unknown , 2015)
Many of these rationalists began to promote the ideas of free will with
philosophical logic denouncing completely the qadr of Allah (divine decree) an
attributing attributes of the creator to the creation. These actions were primarily the
results of mass translations of literary works from other areas into Arabic in
learning centers (Bayt al-Hikma the house of Wisdom in Baghdad) established by
the vast reaches of Islam. Philosophy and other works from Ancient Greece, Latin,
Persian, and IndiaAs a result another school of theology arose on the backs of
reason known as the Mutazalites (AlKhateeb, 2014). These rationalist viewpoints
of reason applied to both the physical and unseen worlds in understanding who
God is were in direct opposition to scripture. For Allah says in surah al-kahf 104106,
Say (O Muhammad
2016
104. "Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought that
they were acquiring good by their deeds!
105. "They are those who deny the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs,
revelations, etc.) of their Lord and the Meeting with Him (in the Hereafter). So
their works are in vain, and on the Day of Resurrection, We shall not give them
any weight.
106. "That shall be their recompense, Hell; because they disbelieved and took My
Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and My
Messengers by way of jest and mockery.
To the Mutazalite the Quran & Sunnah (prophetic words, actions &
behavior of the prophet s.a.w) were not the only sources of truth, so they
continued their course in understanding these concepts in Islamic
application despite the clarity of the Quran & prophet-hood of Muhammad
s.a.w. Since man as the fallacy of believing more so what he is able to see
and understand is was no surprise that they would soon arrive at point
when the tangible world and its understanding began to trump revelation.
Therein lye the dangers of philosophy, and the logic of acceptance
because its sounds good from one angle (usually that which is self-fulfilling)
but full of holes from every other point of view; in addition most philosophy
undergoes constant change because its most conceived under ideal
circumstances paired with a bit of true (that gives it is notable logic and
orientation) but mixed with limited human understanding (which makes it
fallible). Nonetheless these deviant groups rose and flourished, in their
dogma for a time until scholars began to formulate sciences of
Quran/Sunnah to rebute the statements being made by the rationalist.
With more effective opposition to the fallacies of the Mutazilia gaining
ground under Abu al-Hasan al-Ashari (d.936) and Abu Mansur al-Maruridi
(d. 944) who founded the Ashari and Maturdi schools of Aqeedah
respectively. The Asharis and Maturidis refused to use reason to derive new
beliefs that contradicted revelation as the Mutazila had, and attempted to use
the same reason that the Mutazila championed against them. Throughout the
tenth and eleventh centuries, the scholars of these two schools became masters
of philosophy, logic, and rationalism. They managed to find a balance between
2016
reason and revelation that the Mutazilia could not, and formed a series of
arguments based on reason that refuted key Mutazilia beliefs such as the
crestedness of the Quran and the inability of God to have mercy on sinners.
These scholars argued that Gods attributes not separate from Him nor
applicable to creation, and are a means by which he describes himself to
humanity. [This is the correct fulfillment in belief] however application of
attributes to creation is a form of polytheism. Orthodox Islamic belief as
typified by the Quran and Sunnah. By using reason that the Mutazila
considered the highest form of human thought and achievement; they
managed to win people back to a more authentic understanding of Aqeedah
(AlKhateeb, 2014).
I believe at the junction it is good to note that unlike other monotheistic religions
as they claim to be, Islam promotes reasoning and contemplation. Allah often asks
questions in the form or argument provoking mankind to think
This passage is in conclusion to what Prophet Ibrahim A.S. was doing with his
people who were worshiping idols. He began the contemplation of the heavens &
Allah out loud causing those who were on looking to also consider what he was
saying.
And thus did We show Abraham the realm of the heavens and the earth that he
would be among the certain [in faith]
So when the night covered him [with darkness], he saw a star. He said, "This is my
lord." But when it set, he said, "I like not those that disappear."
And when he saw the moon rising, he said, "This is my lord." But when it set, he
said, "Unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among the people gone astray."
2016
And when he saw the sun rising, he said, "This is my lord; this is greater." But
when it set, he said, "O my people, indeed I am free from what you associate with
Allah.
Indeed, I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth,
inclining toward truth, and I am not of those who associate others with Allah."
And his people argued with him. He said, "Do you argue with me concerning Allah
while He has guided me? And I fear not what you associate with Him [and will not
be harmed] unless my Lord should will something. My Lord encompasses all things
in knowledge; then will you not remember? [Surah Al-Anam 6:75-80]
From this is was trying to make his people understand that these things
that are observed which are mightier than the idols they were making with
their own hands and worshiping, are not more than created things
themselves which run their daily courses of servitude to the one who
created them. So, the quran is full of jidal (arguments) that are meant to stir
the human contemplation & draw him closer in understanding the truth
about Allah
Tawhid
Allah ( ) says:
If indeed thou ask them who has created the heavens and the earth and
subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law), they will certainly reply,
Allah. [] And if indeed thou ask them who it is that sends down rain from
the sky, and gives life therewith to the earth after its death, they will
certainly reply, Allah! (Surah Ankabut, verses 61-63)

shirk (shirk means partnership to the creator). (surah Yusuf, verse 106).
Among the people of the world who believe in the existence of a creator
confirm the previous verse; however this 2nd verse is due to incomplete or
ignorant knowledge as to what it really means to believe in the creator. Just
skimming the surface, because the topic has been written in volumes as it
will surely prove to those who delve into it to be quite extensive; consist of
3 branches.
1. Rububiyyah (Allahs lordship and dominion) the word is derived from
Rab meaning lordTo set you in the right mind set example: the
Hindus have a god called Brahman who is said to be indwelling,
eternal, abstract, impersonal absolute. But Brahman shares with the
god Vishnu the god of preservation and the god Shiva who is the
destroyer. There are 3 gods here(something that has been adaptive
throughout the ages) with each ruling or control a different portion of
dominionHe Allah thy god is ONE as the 1st of the Ten
Commandments clearly points out.
2. Asma-wa-sifat (names & attributes) every name carries with it due
praise; these are the descriptive names and attributes of the creator
in how he refers to himself to us. For example: al-khaliq (al=the,
Khaliq=creator) the creator is specifically noting Allah as the only
creator meaning creation from nothing into being as human beings
today as in the past have attributed creating them to themselves. A
deeper pondering on that to allow you to see things alittle deeper
would be to understand that no matter what we may create those
materials including our own organism was first created by Al-khaliq
therefore the root of all creation is Allah.
3. Uluhiyah or Ibadah (alone, without partner in worship) as the creator
of all things the notion of having a son or need of partner should then
become a fleeting thought from the psyche of ones past thoughts.

are heavier than anything else and by these words the hell fire is made
haram (forbidden) & one can enter Jannah (paradise). However, these
words have to become contextual in living them & actualizing tawhid in its
fullness to reap the rewards by them. Our lives have to reflect these words
and by that the tongue will be made allowed to testify on our behalf and not
against us when we are asked by the angels those 3 questions in the
grave; who is your lord, who was the man sent to warn and give guidance,
and what is your religion? Tawhid will assure than one can answer at a
time that only the truth that will bear witness.
Divisions
Human being are enabled with choice and thus should be allowed to freely
do as they please...but even with such divinely given gifts humanity isn't
capable of maintaining just limits to open freedoms as the world today is an
open example to every situation. Instead, the door that opens to ludeness
just gets wider and wider until man debases himself lower than the animals
(meaning he no longer has a higher sense of purpose, and is now
completely enslaved to serving his unsatisfiable desires until death
overtakes him). This is the same rhetoric heard and largely promoted and
exported through media outlets of entertainment, and again there is this
clash of what many people believe to be freedom verses that of control.
Sharia (Arabic for gods law) is therefore seen as something unjust and
controlling while democracy is exported all over the world to a majority that
don't even understand the concept of it. Democracy itself is fundamentally
flawed but furthermore it's a system that ignores the individual and leans
towards the majority. In other words, if your personal rights are being
violated, but the majority of people stand against you in opposite opinion,
then they have the democratic way over you...
Culture, traditions, nationalism, opinions, and philosophy all have their
place; however in al-Islam they have no place if it persists to change the
divine message. Of these let me pull nationalism to the forefront since this
seems to be the biggest problem within the Muslim world. The way I see
nationalism is a bigger, more orderly, and more deadly form of racism.
2016
I pledge my allegiance to the"
messenger of Allah to establish the prayer and pay the zakat (obligatory )
charity to the poor) sincerely and to support all Muslims. (Reported by
Jareer Ibn Abdullah in Sahih Muslim).
Today, the Muslims are primarily focused on Palestine, but along with the
gruesome stories of Syria we find ourselves now shifting to another primary
area of attention. This organizational fanaticism is causing grouping of all
sorts within the Ummah and it causes the lines between friend and foe to
become blurred. The reason this is so important is because the nationalistic
groupings as well as favoritism really harbors along the lines of racism at its
core. Others conflicts that are ongoing with Muslims in other areas aren't
given the same attentions as those currently being discussed. Countless
lives lost and its just another day as long as our selfish needs are met. I
have recently share blogs on the subject of the "the real Arabs" and
posted studies conducted dating back to the 1920's when Saudi Arabia had
not yet become a state ( see blog at sayyarismail.weebly.com/the-pureblooded-Arabs) (Swift, 2015). These posting were made NOT with the
intent of making even more divisions amongst the Muslims; instead on the
contrary they were to point to the subtleties of race that even the prophet
Muhammad s.a.w. pointed out. He s.a.w. makes mention to the description
of Musa and Eesa Ibn Maiam ( ) . The wisdoms behind this are a
testament to the color strifes of today even among Muslim, which Islam is,
supposed to eradicate. But through nationalism & racism it is finding its
place again in the psyche of the population they harbor. Over the centuries
peoples have been displaced and or pushed out through genocide etc. and
replaced by non-indigenous peoples who adapted the land, language and
identity of those removed. Because of these previous actions history is
regard as It is seen today, which is the psychological effect that serves to
satisfying the egocentrism of people's in aligning themselves with favorites
among mankind while at the same time demoting others with race
inferiority. These actions are not above Muslim folks as we can see the
escalations between countries in the Muslim world today. Of course they
have their independent influences, but the duty of the Muslims is to
transcend these temptations with adherence to Allah's laws and prophetic
examples of right conduct. This is one of the reasons I personally feel as
2016
though the prophet s.a.w. would even mention the description of previous
prophets.
Leadership
""
"any slave of Allah (any of us people) who is put by Allah in charge of the affairs of
Muslims and dies dishonest to his subjects, will be forbidden by Allah from
entering paradise".[ Related by Ma'qil ibn Yassir r.a. [From the prophet s.a.w in
Sahih Muslim].
So, from this Hadith we can see that favoritism no matter how it is coupled
to our attentions it is something that Allah will not allow a person the entry
of paradise...this Hadith extends itself even into non-religious matters such
as parenting. The implications are all relevant and they are there to remind
us of the fallacy that takes place within ourselves all the time. Sure,
intentions will ultimately be the deciding factor; however we all know or
have some idea as to when these aspirations take harmful turns, which is
the emphasis to the subject matter. Some might say that this particular
Hadith would only apply to positions of power such as statesmen etc. but
power of influence is something that is also among the sacred trust of Allah
and by that they too will be judge & held accountable. Never will Allah
judge a disbeliever or a mushirk by shariah for it is their kufr & shirk that
hangs mightier around their necks, but as Muslims we will be judged
according to Allahs laws. Among some of the most simple fundamentals
are enjoining good and forbidding evil and we know of which evils are the
most despised and dangerous to be that which is openly committed for it
tends to call others to its acceptance. This very easy principal has become
a harder and harder task for Muslims as the acceptance of public sins
outweighs the non-acceptance. So, quitting something physically without
causing more problems is usually the scenario; however especially for
Muslims in the West who live under laws that still allow free speech, along
with the use of all sorts of media these efforts are often neglected. Social

Hypocrisy

"
"you will find that the worst among the people on the day of judgment is the two-faced one. He who
comes to some people with one face and to others with a different face." (Sahih Bukhari)
2016
We have direct application of this hadith on many fronts...In wake of the most
recent attacks in Paris and all the apologies & other actions that were carried out by
Muslims raises alot of red flags of suspicion to the true merit of many individuals.
The prophet s.a.w. said, Islam began as something strange among the pagan
Arabs, and it will return to its former status of being strange, so give glad tidings to
the stranger (Muslims)." Of course this Hadith doesn't apply to all Muslims;
instead it applies to those Muslims who strive with person, wealth, mind, &
behavior in upholding the banner of Islam on all fronts. These are the Muslims
who present to you the same face of Islam at each encounter, and don't cower when
among non-Muslims in their identities during times when Islam is portrayed
through deceitful lenses. Theres absolutely NO need for Islam to answer, respond
or accept responsibility for the actions of people who act outside the jurisprudence
of the Ummah and for Muslims to fly the flags of secular countries other than the
flag of Allah carries with it huge implications of wrong doing. Sure Islam is a
peaceful way, but playing peace maker in regards to others who have high-jack the
image or have falsely been represented for political reasons then we should not
switch faces during these disturbances. Islam is not guilty of any of these wrong
doingsso, justifying yourself by seeking acceptance to maintain your status in
these countries is no excuse. And the Prophet (saw) said,
Meaning: If
you engage in the Inah (a Riba interest transaction), hold onto the tails of the cows
and be pleased with agriculture, and abandon the Jihad then Allah will place over
you a humiliation which He will not remove until you return to your religion.
[Musnad (chain of narration) Ahmed and Sunan Abi Dawud].
More suitable modern terminology would be those who get comfortable in worldly
affairs, and begin to only consider themselves with matters that seem to directly
affect them and their well-being. Until you return to your religion means until
you return to Jihad according to many scholars. From what gives strength to this
Tafsir is:
a) The previously mentioned Ayat If you go not forth, He will replace you with
a painful torment. So the painful torment by empowering the disbelievers over
the Muslims was promised if the Muslims leave the Jihad. And this torment will be
lifted only when the Muslims return from their sin to the Jihad. So, it seems that
this Hadith means until you return to your Jihad. And Jihad has been called as a
religious duty to its greatness. Another perspective would be:
2016
b) What was mentioned to be abandoned in the Hadith was Jihad. So what was
needed to be returned to is what was abandoned in the first place.
Consideration of all innocent life is necessary as human being should have
empathy of their fellow man; but when do you ever see those same
countries offering publically & socially the same apologies that Muslims
embrace in reassuring themselves among non-Muslims? Therein lies the
wrong doing for Muslim lives matter and they should matter to you for every
Muslim is responsible for what is taking place in this world. Allah will
question each of us as this hadith clearly indicates the importance of your
recognition towards the whole
An explanation of Jihad
These situations of hypocrisy find an audience in the
Muslim world of north Africa where secular and
sultanate governments have otherwise demoted Islam
altogether or by allowing through legislation of the
government to change al-Islam from its pure status to
something else than what the prophet
brought. The hatred of the bearded man although Sunnah
of the prophet s.a.w. and non- Islamic traditions that
supersede sharia. This relaxation of the Sunnah has held
open the door for wider corruption of successive generation who are now growing
up witnessing these practices as the truth, as the books of Hadith have also been
removed from the masajid and are selectively taught by the majlis (government
representative). These actions have polarized the people sacrificing the ability of
people in the preservation of their Islamic identities. This polarization
embodies the two-faced mindset that is promoted because a Muslim is
either Muslim or he/she isn't there is no gray area or sliding scale of
application. Rituals performed on Jumuaah (Friday) once a week or once a
year (in Ramadan) are not sufficient, but unfortunately many people have
allowed themselves to be persuaded by those in authority over them as to
what now is haram and halal (forbidden or permissive).
This is a huge problem (amongst other more attentive endeavors of political consequence)
that is taking place across one of the largest land masses of the Muslim

Secondly, the word does have a war connotation in the sense of selfdefence of ones self, property, community, and homeland from injustice
and or wrongful seizure or occupation. Obviously, physical war is the last
option when all other avenues of peace have failed, however Allah knows
best
Jihad was legislated through three main phases. Before the first phase, the Muslims were ordered
to forgive the disbelievers and to be patient upon their harm.
1) Then came the first phase where Allah gave permission to the believers to fight in defense
against those who fought them.
2016
Allah said:
Meaning: Permission [to fight] has been given to those who are being fought, because they
were wronged. And indeed, Allah is competent to give them victory. So this was permission
for the defensive Jihad.
2) Then came the second phase where Allah obligated the defensive Jihad against the
disbelievers who fought the Muslims. Allah said:
Meaning: Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed.
Allah does not like transgressors.
Here Allah obligated the defensive Jihad. The difference with the first phase is that in the first
phase it was not an obligation, but rather only the permission was given. Here the Jihad was Fard
Ayn as Allah said:
Meaning: Go forth, whether light or heavy, and strive with your wealth and your lives in
the cause of Allah.
3) This the final phase where Allah obligated an offensive Jihad against the disbelievers. In the
previous phases Muslims were to fight those who fought them. But in this final phase which will
remain until the Day of Judgment, Allah orders to fight the disbelievers not for their oppression
against the Muslims. But rather against their disbelief and shirk. So any group of people who are
disbelievers are to be fought whether they fight us or not. The Muslims have been ordered to
seek them in their own lands and fight them and not wait until they take the initiation in fighting.
Allah said:
Meaning: And fight them until there is no fitnah (Shirk) and [until] the religion (worship),
all of it, is for Allah.
And He decreed a choice for the people of the Book if they refuse to enter Islam, that they
should pay the Jizya:
Meaning: Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not
consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not
adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture [fight] until they give
the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.
And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said:
2016
Meaning: I have been ordered to fight the people until they say Laa Ilaha Illallah (there is no
god worthy of being worshiped except Allah), so whoever says Laa ilaaha Illallah has indeed
protected his self and wealth from me except for its right. And his judgment is with Allah
(meaning his inner secrets) [Reported in Sahih al Bukhari]
And here, the obligation of Jihad was Fard Kifaya. As long as a sufficient part of the Ummah
established the obligation, the burden falls from the rest. But it returns to being Fard Ayn when
the reasons for the obligation of fighting become that of the second phase (which was a Fard
Ayn) such as when the disbelievers take the offensive in fighting the Muslims. (Media, 2014)
All of that for Muslims should shed light on the letters from prison, by Ibn
Taymiyyah when he upholds the portion of Muslims in Egypt and AsSham
who undergo such an enormous task for the sake of the Ummah and as
long as they are doing their part then many fall back on the notion of the
Kifaya being fulfilled. Therefore dawah is the disguise that is most often
used in claiming participation for Muslims who live in non-Muslim lands;
however the dawah would be more genuine and better accepted if it was
first reapplied to MuslimsReason for this is, any of the MSAs & other
groups who organize these events should be at least familiar with the
statistics of new Muslims who have come to Islam and the communities
failure to embrace them properly for a host of internal problems within
those same groups that put forth the effort. Allah swt has guided many
people to the door step of Islam, and the final phase of entry was placed
upon Muslims to embrace their new brothers or sisters who were then only
concerned with the bragging rights of getting a shadah & the rewards that
come with that in the hereafter. But, what about the well-being of that
person who has often abandoned their family traditions & friendship
circles? Who was the effort for, you or them? There are a number of
resources today spent on dawah with travleling sheeyuk to various
countries to deliver often the same repetitive stories most Muslims have
already heard. So, why isnt it left to those in their communities the simpler
task of education, while our bigger scholars gather within themselves to
conclude matters of the Muslims?
Thats just an opinion But This is the reason that ones house should be
in proper order before you invite guest inIslam is the truth in which nearly
2 billion people bear witness but the enjoining good and forbidding evil, is
2016
the least of struggles one should make for the sake of Allah in which he has
legislated.
The Muslim World
Cohesion and obedience is something that the prophet s.a.w. has ordered
Whosoever obeys the ruler has obeyed me and whoever obeys me had obeyed
Allah; and he who disobeys the ruler has disobeyed me and whoever disobeys
me has disobeyed Allah. (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
It is well established in the Quran that we are commanded to obey the ruler.
Allah put obeying the rulers after obeying Him {Allah} and obeying the Prophet
s.a.w. There are many ahadith in the Sunnah, i.e. the main collections, and
other books that state that it is obligatory to obey them [the rulers] and to be
patient with their oppression. Reported by Ahmad (3/403) and Ibn Abi Aasim
(2/521) with a Sahih isnaad [narration] It is authentically reported from the
Messenger in the hadeeth of Iyaad ibn Ghunum who said, The Messenger of
Allah (saws) said, Whoever desires to advise the one with authority then he
should not do so openly, rather he should take him by the hand and take him
into seclusion (and then advise him). And if he accepts (the advice) from him
then (he has achieved his objective) and if not, then he has fulfilled that which
was a duty upon him. However, under other special circumstances the Prophet
(saw) said The person must obey in whatever he loves, and in whatever he
hates, in ease and in hardship, in willingness and un-willingness; except if he is
commanded to disobey Allah; So if he is commanded to disobey Allah, then he
should not listen, nor should he obey. Related by al-Bukhari (4/203).
This is the current ordeal in the Muslim worldleadership has done its best
at maintaining the illusion of obedience to Allah, but through the cracks the
real agendas shine through. In regards to some, like the president in
Tunisia, who has made previously open statements of disbelief which
immediately fueled a revolt in that country among the population who were
seeking to change things vs those who dont want to abandon their religion.
Algeria has its internal issues as well as Libya & Egypt.

Morocco, on the other hand more or less is hardly ever mentioned when it
comes to international news in terms of Muslim news, as the sheikh in his
letters alluded to centuries ago; a timid people who have been overrun by
Europeans. Such is the case, while the culture is taking on a face-lift
beginning with the name now referred to as Maroc removing the Moor
connotation to Muslim Spain & that of the earlier darker skinned Muslims
who are the indigenous peoples of the land who have been pushed into the
barren Sahara south bordering Algeria & Mauritania. With these cultural
changes you see an under educated & economically set back country now
shifting to open its doors in revitalisation of the country but at the expense
of the people. Islam has also suffered a huge blow, as the sultanate
struggles in identity of a kingdom/Islam/ & democracy respectively. These
changes have therefore caused many psychological disorders especially
upon those who have deeper roots & ties to their faith. Today, its not
uncommon to see a mother walking her child to school while she {the mother}
is wearing hijab but the children are all dressed like a American or French
in western clothing. With this permission comes also the lack or complete
negligence of prayer as is indicated during the time of the adhan {call to
prayer} and attendance in the masajid.
In, retrospect western holidays are embraced such as Halloween, birthdays
and Ramadan is more so celebrated like Xmas with excessive sleep during
the day {missing the concept of fasting} while over eating throughout the night with
family and friends in feast like settings with wrapped presents. Of course,
commercials and T.V. programming reinforce the new mindset with
Moroccan men & women in western type attire promoting prosperity
through this image.
In addition, Islam has been changed to support the concepts & newly
founded principals of Aqeedah, halal & haram that coincide with these new
cultural aspects. Yet, in still in the mist of the few that benefit you find the
country is now more so divided along lines of class as well as religion. With
religious knowledge diminished most find no problems with accepting
conditions of riba (interest borrowing) for temporary enjoyment.
Mathaab
Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam al-ShafiI and Imam Ahmad ibn
Hanbal Rahim-allah alayhumthe four great Imams and scholars of
Islamic Jurisprudence. These names have again arisen among talk circles,
2016
but before we go into the subject in terms of the Muslim world, lets first
begin with the Western world. The term madhab or school of
Jurisprudence that is always linked to one of the four imams, is something
that primarily doesnt exist in the west, however Muslims are among
themselves bringing these issue up in conversation with others on issues of
Fiqh. Giving benefit of doubt as to the reasons in need of addressing some
of the questions (hypothetical or real) and the answers in response are often
times leading many on wrongful paths. The methods of acquiring
knowledge today for Muslims has turned more so from traditionalist type
methods to that of a variety of approaches; however with that opens the
door to a host of new problems.. For example: It is possible for all Muslims
to learn about the fundamental beliefs of Islam like Tawhid and about
general ethics directly from the translations of Quran and
Hadith. However, understanding Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), which forms
the foundations of our everyday life, isnt practically possible for most,
except a very small number of scholars who have the requisite knowledge
base and training. This is a slippery slope because while the text of Quran
and authentic Ahadith is free from error, its interpretations arent. So
anybody who tries to deduce conclusion without proper training in ijtihad is
liable to make errors. So, that makes most of us students of these four
great scholars We are therefore obligated to their reference in matters
that pertain to rulings in Islamic law
2016
It is very important to
note and realize that
despite the differences
of opinion in the
matters of fiqh, these
blessed souls had
nothing but the utmost
respect for each other;
furthermore 70% of
rulings were
unanimously agreed
upon, and differences
tended to be the result
of one lacking a hadith
or some proof that another was in possession of. Therefore as a result of
their early work later muhadith (scholar of prophetic Sunnah) such as: Albani,
Uthaymeen, Bin Bazz (rahimullah alayhum) who made ijtihad on the remaining
30% to bring full concensus upon fiqh-ee matters and close the door to
fitnah that might transpire between Muslims. As a result, their works shed
light on those matters but, Muslims still find ways of provoking one-another
into divisions. In the West, with the absense of origin upon mathaab there
are groups who entitle themselves instead with terminology that is moreso
to set one against the other instead of calling all to unity upon
righteousness
Back in the Muslim world these mathaabs have taken a huge twist in
furthering divides whom the four scholars themselves never represented.
They in fact would study eachother and often take the opinion of the
otherbut their students who would inherit them drove these division which
today have deviation & nationalism sediments added to them. Al-Maghreb
which is Morocco but comprises of all of West Africa also extending to
Egypt the Maliki mathaab is prevelent. However, the deviant sects have
twisted the interpretations to justify what it is they have become today.

Blind Following
He is called Al-Shawkani because of the attribute ascribed on him from his birth place
Hijrah Shawkan, a small village about a days journey from Sana in Yemen. Born 1760
CE, Imam Shawkanis name & lineage are as follow: Muhammad bin Ali bin Muhammad
bin Abdullah Al-Shawkani al-Sanani. Al-Sanani is the attribution to where he grew up in
Sana. Very much into seeking knowledge as a youth & student of his father Ali who
was a judge in Sana, the Sheikh would go on to hold early positions as a Qadi under
the Qasimi Imami rulers. Since 35-40% of all Muslims in Yemen are recognised from
the Shiia sect (Zaidiyyah named after the great grandson of the prophet s.a.w, Zaid ibn Hussein ibn
Ali ibn Abi Talib r.a.), much speculation has gone forward as to whether the sheikh was
actually zaidiyyah or sunni. Farid Ali, M (n.d.), mentions some of the works he studied
from the Zaidiyyah were: Sharh al-Azhar, and Sharh al-Naziri; from the Sunni
tradition he studied Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Al-Tirmidhi, Muwatta
Malik, Al-Shifa of al-Qadi lyad, and al-Muntaqa.
Aspiring to levels of self-mastery in tafsir and hadith he proclaimed himself at the
age of 30yrs Mutafaaqi, no longer subjected to the needs of taqleed and was now
able to make ijtihadd on matters concerning fiqh. Deeply committed to his work, he
spent the rest of his life as he would later ascend to greater heights, to issuing fatwas
something he had been doing since he was twenty yrs. oldHe later produced some
famous works of which 3 are worth mentioning:
Nayl al-Awir min Aidith Sayyid al-Akhyir (Attainment of the Objectives from the
Hadiths of the Chief of the Righteous). A commentary on Muntaqaal-khboir
of (Al-Majd) Ibn Taymiyyah; a fiqh manual based on hadith.
Fath al-Qadir: Jimi bayna fannay al-riwiyah wa al-diriyah min ilm altafsr (narrations and analysis in the Science of Tafsir.
Irshid al-fuil ili taqiq al-aqq min ilm al-uil (Guide to the verification of truth in the
science of uool ). (Farid Ali, n.d.pg1)

The Qasimi imams of the sixth and seventh centuries maintained a rugged stance
against Sunni tradition, although they had rejected the Mutazalite and their
philosophical viewpoints of which many Sufi sects emerged. One tract minded by the
Hadawi school of thought, they would still quote Sunni Ahadith. The gateway into the
Sunni hadith tradition for the Zaidiyyahs can be traced back to the rule of Mutawakkil
Ahmad bin Sulaiman (ruled 1137-1170 CE). He regards the canon of ahadith work in his
own work entitled Usul al-ahkam fi al-halal wa al-haram. However, by the eighth
century their successors had left the Sunni tradition and began to discredit their
scholars. Deposed temporarily by enemies of Islam, Muhammad bin Ibrahim al-Wazir
(d. 1436) spear-headed a movement abandoning the Zaidiyyah-Hadawi school of
thought and declared the Sunni canonical collection as the unconditional true source of
authentic religious narratives of the prophet s.a.w.. He began to disseminate the
material and the path back to the Sunnah was quickly joined by other creditable names
who would all share in this great jihad back to the right path. Al-Shawkani is noted for
taking this momentum to its highest point within learning circles in Sana. Like always,
political factors divided the influences of people of Zaidiyyah, Hadawi and ShafiI
schools (increasing in followers) in the south. The main source of revenue was primarily
from export of coffee and these monies were the main source of the countries revenue.
With no legitimate tie to Quran or Sunnah in rulings the Zaidiyyah political doctrine
wasnt living up to expectations as many of them began to think in terms of kings. So,
as a result the Zaidiyyah infrastructure was delegitimized as the Sunni tradition would
prove itself in business and personal matters.
At this point, and following suit of his predecessors laying the ground work back
to the Sunnah, Al-Shawkani considered the Sunni traditional hadith the most authentic
source of religious material after the Quran and thus based all of his following opinions
mostly on them. Despite the unclear lines earlier on where the sheikh actually stood in
terms of tradition, it was more so clear now and accurate to call him from amongst the
Sunni scholars. He condemned the following of one school of thought which would
enable Muslims to obtain good from all truths amongst the different schools and disliked
taqlid upon anyone therefore held a high regard to personal liberation through study.
Interestingly, he argued that taqlid was the innovation itself, destructive by the
followers of various schools of law. In and of itself, it has led to factionalism and
ijtihad is the only means by where to combat the sectarian & antagonistic views.
Ijtihad is a continuous practice not bound to any time period focusing on
reforming misguided social practices (Faridi Ali, M n.d. pg 2).
2016
Lastly, he began to challenge the state He began to see the problems in rulership that were inherited and thus began to reflect that leadership didnt have to come by
way of succession, but rather by means of Bayah (allegiance from the people). In other
words, the most suitable to rule by consensus of the people (such was that of the 1st
caliphate to Abu Bakr r.a.; and not succession of family like going to Ali ibn Abi Talib r.a. like
many Shiia argue); this would enable them to weed out potential corruption and
weakness within the hierarchy of society. He also took into consideration the succession
from decree of a standing Imam, like in the case of Abu Bakr asSadeeq r.a. who
passed the caliphate onto to Umar ibn al-Khattab r.a. Al-Shawkani exclusively relied on
the Quran & Sunnah to be the only standard.with this he was able to refute many of
the legal teaching of the previous Hadawis. As a result only the qiyas of traceable roots
back to Quran & Sunnah were acceptable in establishing its rule & ijma. He further
discourages Muslims from raising up against their leaders who were fulfilling the basic
tenements of Islam, and whom they hadnt heard them proclaim any disbelief publicly.
Something, I wish the peoples of Morocco would open up to since I have heard imams
in khutbahs use words of kufar in relationship to the government over Quran & Sunnah.
Al-Shawkanis long and short fatwas and binding letters to judges under his office
gained him many followers who would travel from as far as India to study under him. He

Hadith
The general meaning of the word Arabic: ad, plural: , ad) are the
collections of the reports claiming to quote what the prophet Muhammad (saw) said in word, his actions,
methods, and behavior verbatim on every matter. This is why he is the most documented human being to
ever live. The term comes from the Arabic meaning "report", "account" or "narrative". Hadiths are
second only to the Quran in developing Islamic jurisprudence, and regarded as important tools for
understanding the Quran and commentaries (tafsir) on itBut
2016
indicating for the prophet (saw) in what he said was correct, and this was the
manner by which Allah (swt) taught him. What is important here to note is
the importance of the hadith in fully understanding the Quran itself. It is in
fact one of the reasons for the advent of the prophet(s) to explain the text
fully, therefore it is not mans option to disregard what the prophet(s) have
said in explanation. After the prophets would be those of their companions
who accepted the early messages and followed them; they are regarded
2nd to the prophet(s) in understanding the text. In the case of the Prophet
Muhammad (saw) the Quran also serves as a biography as many verses
were revealed in response to life events of himself (saw) and his
companions (ra). Yet, there have been deviant groups who have sought to
disregard the Prophet (saw) and his companions in understanding the
Quran which has opened the door to all sorts of variations & deviant groups
all stating their reasons as just. Its these deviations who are the enemies of
Islam and when they are further embraced by the larger spectrum of
adversaries they then try propagating confusion through logic and
philosophies all focused toward misleading anyone without proper
knowledge. This has been the very same methodology of the previous
nations and their prophets in destroying their truth Wahb ibn Baqiyyah told
us from Khaalid from Muhammad ibn Amr from Abu Salamah from Abu Hurayrah
who said: the Messenger of Allaah (saw) said: The Jews were divided into
seventy-one or seventy-two sects, and the Christians were divided into seventyone or seventy-two sects, and my Ummah {Muslims} will be divided into seventythree sects. This was narrated by [Abu Dawood in his Sunan, Kitaab al-Sunnah,
Baab Sharh al-Sunnah]
.In another narration, It was reported from Awf ibn Maalik who said: the
Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
"The Jews were divided into seventy-one sects, one of which is in Paradise {the
one that maintains the correct religion from Moses a.s.} and seventy are in the
Fire {all deviations}. The Christians were divided into seventy-two sects, seventyone of which are in the Fire {all deviations} and one is in Paradise {the correct
2016
religion Jesus a.s. brought & taught}. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of
Muhammad, my Ummah {Muslims} will be divided into seventy-three sects, one of
which will be in Paradise {His correct religion} and seventy-two will be in the
Fire {all deviant groups}." It was said, O Messenger of Allah, who are they? He
said, "Al-Jamaaah." [Sunan Ibn Maajah, no. 3982.]
What is meant by al-Jamaaah is the aqeedah {meaning correct religion} and
actions of the Prophet (saw) and his Companions (ra).
And from the Quran Allah has warned about such actions "Verily those who split
up their religion and became sects, you have absolutely nothing to do with them."
[Holy Qur'an 6:159]
[30:32] (Do not fall in idol worship, meaning sun, moon stars, trees, rocks, cows
or people) like those who divide their religion into sects; each party rejoicing with
what they have.
[42:14] ironically, they broke up into sects only after the knowledge had come to
them, {meaning they use the truth to twist it & cause deviation, without it they
had no reference} due to jealousy and resentment among themselves. If it were not
for a predetermined decision from your Lord to respite them for a definite interim,
{the term of life is written for each person, which Allah doesnt contradict his
own word} they would have been judged immediately. Indeed, the later
generations who inherited the scripture are full of doubts. Prophet (saw) did not
die before he had shown the way clearly to his ummah [nation]. At the end of the
last Hajj [pilgrimage] performed by the Prophet (saw) there was revealed the ayah
[verse] (interpretation of the meaning):
This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for
you Islam as your religion [al-Maaidah 5:3]

This naqas (decrease) is witnessed in the masajid today. I was once trying to
explain the need of a sutra (barrier) in praying outside of the Jamaat led by
the imam, because I seen everyone walking in front of one another while in
private prayer. It shocked me that no one was paying the respect to the
individual who was praying coming across his qiblah (direction of prayer facing
Mecca) within 1 meter of his standing position. It was grossly sickening as I
struggled back through the crowd to place a chair sutra in front of the one
near the door way while everyone struggled across him to get out. Other
things, such as the concepts of tawhid, including the correct prayer
technique are all missing as many pray with their hands to the side
(something Imam Malik did after being beaten, his arms broken he could no longer fold them in
prayer) instead of folding them across the chest. Taking the madhab over
the Prophets (saw) Sunnah, who said, Pray as you have seen me pray, of which
his methods have been dully reported in authenticity. Sadly, enough you
will find that even in giving advice of correction it is taken as something
severe, as it often leads those people to report you to the secret police who
enforce these ignorant ways of malpractice devoid of Sunnah. I have been
reported several times for nothing more than telling a brother in the upmost
respectful ways that what they were doing was wrong etc. As a bearded
man, Im immediately painted a threat. Let me remind you again, he
(Shawkani) argued that taqleed was the innovation itself (because religious
matters/knowledge are fard on the Muslim), destructive by the followers of various schools
of law who began to promote the deviation of the madhab over the practices of the
Sunnah). In and of itself, it has led to factionalism and ijtihad is the only means by where to
combat the sectarian & antagonistic views. Ijtihad is a continuous practice not bound to
any time period focusing on reforming misguided social practices (al-Wahhaab, 2015)
My heart loves the masjid, and I love to pray in the masjid; but when I
began to be troubled by those who deliberately use the masjid for a means
of ignorance and misguidance I began to question things. Ironically, once
after fajr when I returned home I was reading the Quran and Allah led me
to these ayat
And [there are] those
2016
[hypocrites] who took for themselves a mosque for causing harm and disbelief and division
among the believers and as a station for whoever had warred against Allah and His
Messenger before. And they will surely swear, "We intended only the best." And Allah
testifies that indeed they are liars. [9:107]
Do not stand [for prayer] within it - ever. A mosque founded on righteousness from the
first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it are men who love to purify
themselves; and Allah loves those who purify themselves. [9:108]
Then is one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness [with fear] from Allah
and [seeking] His approval better or one who laid the foundation of his building on the
edge of a bank about to collapse, so it collapsed with him into the fire of Hell? And Allah
does not guide the wrongdoing people. [9:109]
Their building which they built will not cease to be a [cause of] skepticism in their hearts
until their hearts are stopped. And Allah is Knowing and Wise. [9:110].
Allah's Messenger (saw) spoke of something and said: "It will happen when knowledge will be no more."
(Ziyad) said: "Allah's Messenger, how will knowledge vanish despite the fact that we will be reciting the
Qur'an and teaching its recitation to our children and our children will teach its recitation to their
children up to the Day of Resurrection?" Thereupon he (the Prophet (saw)) said: "Ziyad, do these Jews
and Christians not recite the Torah and the Bible but not act according to what is contained in
them?"(Ahmad, Ibn Majah, Tirmidhi)
Having read these ayat before, It mimicked the condition of Umar (ra) when
at the time of the prophets (saw) death it anger him to hear the people say
he (saw) had passed until Abu Bakr (ra) read, "And now, he who worships
Muhammad, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, Muhammad is dead now. But he who
worships Allah, He is Ever Living and He never dies. Allah says: 'Muhammad is
no more than a Messenger, and indeed (many) Messengers have passed away
before him. If he dies or is killed, will you then turn back on your heels (as
disbelievers)? And he who turns back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to
Allah, and Allah will give reward to those who are grateful.' [Al-Qur'an 3:144]" ;
Ibn 'Abbas said: "By Allah it sounded as if people had never heard such a Qur'anic
verse till Abu Bakr recited it as a reminder. So people started reciting it till there
2016
was no man who did not recite it." Like then, the verses had now a living
example of application & reference; however let me add that I have read &
understood the asbab an-Nuzul (reason for revelation) regarding these verses
so, this isnt me making a ruling towards leaving off the obligation for the
men in praying in the masajid, but instead am only mentioning it because in
my case it does find legitimacy in which I will try bringing to the attention of
ulema for deeper insight insha Allah
Second to residential housing, there is currently an explosion of masajid
being built within every new community, but unfortunately the government
trains and places the imams in these masajid whereby they take an oath in
upholding the sultanate as Amir al-Mumineen. A good gesture if it were
true but that title applies to a caliphate not a king & applied across the
board of all Muslims, additionally that would also imply that the land is ruled
under Islamic law (although most would say it is), and lastly the Amir would be
among the people adhering to terms of justice, enjoining good while
forbidding evil. Among the good of seeing our countries leadership in
televised Friday (Jumuah services) how much better would it be to actually see
a leader delivering the khutbah himself? A beautiful thing that would be;

motivates the current behavior of all these leaders
So, the damage is done and it resonates through the psyche of the people
who have now taken the leaders in opposition to Allah. To the credit of truth
the people have continued to hold on to belief in Allah
Tafsir
Derived from the Arabic verb fassara, which means explainis the term
used to define the branch of knowledge by which the Quran is understood,
2016
its meanings explained and its points of law & wisdom derived. Taweel
comes from awwala which means interpretation
Note: when taweel is used in reference to a command ( amr ) its
means the execution or implementation of that command. When
applied towards News ( naba ) its referring to the occurrence of
the news. Lastly, only when it has an implication of reference
to speech is it then referring to the interpretation of what is
being said
Now, in order for the mufasir (the one who does tafsir) to be consider among
those who are rightly guided they must possess the right belief, no
deviations of secular view-points of influence, complete in faith & tawhid;
they should also be sound in the knowledge of this deep science; and
employ the correct methodologies in concluding upon meaningHowever,
the depth of comprehension of the Quran will still vary from person to
person due to natural intellectual difference. So, it is appropriate to make
clear that although the science have evolved to understanding the Quran,
this does not replaced the duty of the Prophet (saw) who is tasked with the
explanation of it to humanity.
[ We sent them] with clear proofs and written ordinances. And We revealed to you the
message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them and that they might

Before creating anything else Allah ordered the Pen to write. It asked what
it was to write. It was told, All that is going to be. (According to other reports, Write
down My knowledge, about My creations, until the Day of Judgment). So, it wrote down all

that was to be on the Lawh al-Mahfuz (the preserved tablet that remains with Allah).
Thus, there is not a single thing that is to happen, or it will be, small or big,
is written down in the Lawh al-Mahfuz, exactly qualified and quantified
along with details of when and where it will be and when it will be
destroyed. The preserved tablet also enveloped all revelation that was sent
to man until its prescribed time of deliverance to the prophet tasked to
deliver it. The Angel Jabril a.s. (Gabriel), is known as the Angel of revelation
(the holy spirit, he is also regarded) who is the deliverer of the revelation to the Nabi
(prophet). Moses was an exception, whom Allah spoke to directly, but thats
not to say Jabril a.s. was not still a patron unto Musa a.s. by the leave of
AllahAllahu Alim. In regards to the revelation all previous revelations
where revealed all at once because:
They represented shorter periods of human history and
directed to specific nations, which those prophets came
from.
Their principles were not time or situation oriented.
These earlier revelations were NOT themselves the
miracle; those prophets were all given miracles by which
the eye witnessed which limited there effects on
succeeded generations who would then only hear the
stories and not actually see the miracle. This would open
the door to myth and wrongful deification prophets to
partnership with the creator himself. In contrast the Quran
is the miracle that is applied to the ear, this makes the
miracle obtainable to anyone who learns the Arabic thus
making it timeless
Previous prophets were preceded and followed, so each
prophet then represented a segment of the overall
revelation.
The Quran was revealed twicethe first revelation was from the preserved
tablet that remains with the creator on high, and was given to Jabril a.s.

who brought it to the lowest heaven (Al-baytul Izza) the honored house (which
each of the 7 heavens has a spiritual house representative to the kabah In Mecca) on layl-ul-Qadr
Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree. [97:1]
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? [97:2]
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. [97:3]
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every
matter.[ 97:4]
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn. [97:5].
Here the Quran would remain in its entirely as it is conveyed in segments
to the prophet Muhammad (saw) by Jabril a.s.{This is the 2nd revelation of the Quran}
who would descend unto him. This occurred over a 23 yr. period from the
time the prophet was given the news of being that last prophet until last
verse of Al-Baqarah ayah 281 and last chapter of An-Nasr during the
farewell hajj at the end of the 10th year A.H. (after hijrah to medina). Reasons for
segmentation of its revelation are:
All such considerations lead us to the criteria for judging scripture itself,
especially today when having these conversations with other faiths in

Methods
Tafsir of Quran by Quran Example: Allah states in one verse
Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all]
vision; and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted. [6:103], then later answers or
explains that not in worldly life but the life to come [ Some] faces,
that Day, will be radiant, [75:22]
Looking at their Lord. [75:23]
everyone call recall in the Israeliyat (translations of the Torah and Injeel) the story
of Moses a.s. who asked to see AllahAllah then exposed just a very small
portion of himself to the mountain which then quake and shook with such violent
force that Moses fell unconscious
Tafsir of Quran by Sunnah example:
2016
Or [it is] like a rainstorm from the sky within which is darkness, thunder
and lightning. They put their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps in
dread of death. But Allah is encompassing of the disbelievers. [2:19]
The lightning almost snatches away their sight.
Every time it lights [the way] for them, they walk therein; but when darkness
comes over them, they stand [still]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken
away their hearing and their sight. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.
[2:20] these 4 verses make up the Mathal (metaphor) Allah uses to describe the
effect of the revelation to enlighten the human heart and bring them to life. He
further explains the effect of revelation on those who pretend to be Muslim,
those who seek to benefit from Islam materially. They are like those who light a
fire in order to benefit from its warmth & light. However, entry into Islam has
no enlightening effect on their hearts; likewise Allah removes the light from the
fire (which purifies) leaving them in total darkness blind to see the truth
You will surely be tested in your possessions and in yourselves. And you will surely
hear from those who were given the Scripture before you and from those who
associate others with Allah much abuse. But if you are patient and fear Allah indeed, that is of the matters [worthy] of determination. [3:186] this word
latublawwunna is Arabic that makes the claim we will be tested;
2016
Had there been within the heavens and earth gods besides Allah, they both would
have been ruined. So exalted is Allah, Lord of the Throne, above what they
describe. [21:22] this is an example of a Jadal (argument) here Allah is referring to the
harmony of creation which implies a single creator, had there been more than one surely they
would come to differences and harmony would be lost
Does man think that he will be left neglected?[ 75:36]
Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted? [75:37]
Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allah] created [his form] and
And made of him two
proportioned [him] [75:38]
mates, the male and the female. [75:39]
Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead? [75:40] This Jadal (argument) is
telling man to take notice of his own creation (centuries before modern medicine
could explain the embryotic process); the process of contemplation implies that
creation also consist of recreation since it is 1st creation that would be considered
harder.
The qisas (narrative) are stories that are told about previous nations,
prophets, and historical events that took place. The human being is
psychological taken in by stories so, the Quran employs this method since
the creator knows best his creation. These stories also help to comfort the
prophet Muhammad (saw) by hearing stories of previous prophets since he
(saw) didnt grow up learned as others of scripture, they tell of the pending
victory of truth over evil, and serve as a narrative for believers today.
The qissahs has 3 main parts:

I have offered this brief insight into the science of Tafsir, because its a
crucial area for Muslims to understand 1st for the deeper learning of ones
deen; 2nd its an area that is attacked by those who seek to change Allahs
word especially for non-Arabic speaking peoples in their understanding of
the Quran. At one time or the other we, have heard about the importance of
learning the Arabic, and this is one of the main reasons of importance.
Every revelation that has preceded mainly the Torah & Injeel, those
opposed to those prophets set out to undermine their messages through
the written text. If not the main reason, a significant portion of why those
earlier scriptures have not survived was due to their followers not adapting
to the language in which they were revealed. Allah has made the
memorization of his words easy for those who inquire but changes &
translations makes this task an impossibility.
And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so
fear Me." [23:52]
But the people
divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has,
rejoicing. [23:53]
So leave them in their confusion for a
time. [23:54]
Do they think that what We extend to them of
wealth and children [23:55]

But their hearts are covered with confusion over this, and they have [evil]
deeds besides disbelief which they are doing, [23:63]

would not have been heavier for me than this ordering me to collect the Qur'an. Then I said to
Abu Bakr, "How will you do something which Allah's Apostle did not do?" Abu Bakr replied,
"By Allah, it is a good project." Abu Bakr kept on urging me to accept his idea until Allah
opened my chest for what He had opened the chests of Abu Bakr and 'Umar. So I started looking
for the Qur'an and collecting it from (what was written on) palmed stalks, thin white stones and
also from the men who knew it by heart, till I found the last Verse of Surat At-Tauba
(Repentance) with Abi Khuzaima Al-Ansari, and I did not find it with anybody other than him.
The Verse is: 'Verily there has come unto you an Apostle (Muhammad) from amongst yourselves. It
grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty..(till the end of Surat-Baraa' (At-Tauba)
(9.128-129) Then the complete manuscripts (copy) of the Qur'an remained with Abu Bakr till he died,
then with 'Umar till the end of his life, and then with Hafsa, the daughter of 'Umar.
The Quran was revealed in 7 ahruf (dialects) of the tribes of Arabia, and
although there were 7 dialects the meaning didnt differ as often the only
difference in dialect was pronunciation, or a word that lent more power to
the phrase.
Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab: Volume 6, Book 61, Number 514:
I heard Hisham bin Hakim reciting Surat Al-Furqan during the lifetime of Allah's Apostle and I
listened to his recitation and noticed that he recited in several different ways which Allah's
Apostle had not taught me. I was about to jump over him during his prayer, but I controlled my
temper, and when he had completed his prayer, I put his upper garment around his neck and
seized him by it and said, "Who taught you this Sura which I heard you reciting?" He replied,
"Allah's Apostle taught it to me." I said, "You have told a lie, for Allah's Apostle has taught it to
me in a different way from yours." So I dragged him to Allah's Apostle and said (to Allah's
Apostle),
"I heard this person reciting Surat Al-Furqan in a way which you haven't taught me!" On that
Allah's Apostle said, "Release him, (O 'Umar!) Recite, O Hisham!" Then he recited in the same
way as I heard him reciting. Then Allah's Apostle said, "It was revealed in this way," and added,
"Recite, O 'Umar!" I recited it as he had taught me. Allah's Apostle then said, "It was revealed in
this way. This Qur'an has been revealed to be recited in seven different ways, so recite of it
whichever (way) is easier for you (or read as much of it as may be easy for you)."
Narrated Abu Huraira: Volume 6, Book 61, and Number 504:
The Prophet said, "Every Prophet was given miracles because of which people believed, but
what I have been given, is Divine Inspiration which Allah has revealed to me. So I hope that my
followers will outnumber the followers of the other Prophets on the Day of Resurrection."

During the time of Umars (ra) caliphate, Islam had liberated a number of
lands outside of Arabia spreading into North Africa. After his death Uthman
Ibn Affan (ra) (644-656CE/23-35AH) became the 3rd Calipha. Egypt, Syria,
Jerusalem, Iraq, Persia, India, Russia, China, Turkey and across North
Africa to Morocco; the 7 ahruf dialects eventually became a problem in
recitation outside of Arabia. Huthayafah Ibn al-Yemen (ra) noticed the
problem in Iraq and began to fear the division of Muslims, so he informed
Uthman (ra). He then gathered a delegation of remaining companions to the
prophet (saw) himself also among them as well as the prophets (saw)
brother-law twiceThey decided to take the Quran that was compiled in
Abu Bakrs (ra) time and passed on to Hafsa (raa) restricting the recitation to
it. Again Zayd Ibn Thabbit was commissioned to lead a group of 4 where 7
copies were made and sent out to the lands of Mecca, Syria, Bahrain,
Medina, Koofah, Bashra, and Sham (encompassing Jordan, Lebanon, Jerusalem, Syria, &
south Turkey). With each copy sent an official scholar was sent to teach it.
From this point all copies of the Quran were made from these copies which
have given them the name mushaf Uthamani
Working to anticipate the divisions among Muslims the door to the great
trials had already been opened with the assassination of Umar (ra) as the
prophet (saw) earlier said, narrated by `Uthman ibn Madh'un who said,
The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'This one is
the lock upon the fitnah (sedition and trials),' and he indicated `Umar with
his hand; There will remain a door strongly locked between you and the
fitnah as long as this one lives among you.' Uthman (ra) and later Ali Ibn
Abi Talib the 4th Calipha, cousin & son-in law to the prophet (saw) were
also assassinated but this time it was done by Muslims who differed
Therefore it is on some of the pre-conceived preminisitons and
exaggerated notions that the early companions are held to neglect &
blameworthy. In turn this has led many mufasirun to disregard them all
together in tafsir methods and thus they have relied on themselves or other
deviant peoples to chime in on opinion that is not based on knowledge but

War on Islam
Categories of conservationists, fundamentalists, modernist, secularism,
and radical are bestowed up a people and their faith according to
appearance and level of faith as it correlates to the modern world according
to Western criteria. These same classifications set the criteria also in many
Muslim countries who have covertly accepted the demands of former
colonizers in re-colonizing the Muslim lands along with the disguised
agenda to wipe away Islam. Triggered with many key words like Salafi,
Islamist, Jihadist, Sunni, Shiawith imagery of hijab or bearded men
paired to the verbal stimulus in creating a condition response of public fear
and or resentment that derives not from the source of self, but from the

Quote from al-Zilal: There is a gang of misleaders and swindlers, the enemies
of humanity, who place the divine system in one pan (of the scale) and the
material creativity of humanity in the other pan (scale) and they say to humanity,
choose either the divine system or life and forego all the accomplishments of
human creativity in the material world or take the fruits of human knowledge and
abandon the divine system. This is a despicable nasty deception, for the issue is
not framed in those terms at all. The divine system is not an enemy of human
ingenuity. It is in fact the initiator of this creativity and gives it direction and the
proper orientation. That is so the human being will rise to the responsibility of
being Khalifa (successive inheritors in generations of mankind) upon the earth, the
station which Allah has assigned him & enabled him to fulfill.
Analyzing most of the speeches of politicians or any other true enemies to Allah
you will find that what they dislike about Islam are the radicals, and other
classifications they label us withBut all of the noteworthy and highly acclaimed
scholar ship that we here made mention of regularly are in fact those who have
upheld the truth and who would be considered among those they detest. As in
their times, we now face the same monsters who have gained more sophisticated
tools, and disguises at declaring what is right about Islam and what is notThe
Quran & Sunnah are not negotiable items to be adapted to their world views nor
abandoned; We know the word of Allah is not changeable and therefore we
should be willing to sacrifice any and everything in upholding the banner of
Truth
If one doesnt understand that the Quran was the handbook for a
movement that was focused towards the eradication of injustices, then one
will never come close to grasping its spirit. As soon as the Quran was
revealed, it drove a quiet, kind-hearted man from his isolation & seclusion
and placed him upon the battlefield of life to challenge a world that had
gone astray. (Philps, 1997)

Psychological Effects
In addition to the internal struggles are those that are posing threat
externally, and with more backlash from negative media, the threats
worsen. Being Muslim comes with alienation, discrimination of every kind
and disenfranchisement from the not-normal majority. Distinct
psychological attack targeting the personalities of the populace which
everything I was discussing up to this point insha Allah {god willing} will help
Muslims to understand the damaging effects.
After all our personalities are nothing more than our individual
characteristics, unique patterns of thinking, feeling and behavingthis
usually describes the traits of a persons personality; our overall approach
towards life consistent with a variety of environment/ personal stimulus.
The test for all of us is to choose after truth reaches us that which re-settles
the soul or further keeps its distressedIt is the Lord who guides
He said, "Our Lord is He who gave each thing its form and
then guided [it]." [20:50] but it is up to us to choose. It has thus become
much more stressful for younger Muslims especially to maintain their
identities through
2016
All of these problems are causing psychological disorders and the term
hypocrisy or two-faced-ness begins to take on an adaptive role. As should
be expected the self-concept of how we see ourselves is constantly being
referenced to negative events, oppression, discord and chaos; which in
contrast has psychological effects on self-esteem. The aspects of this
social deterioration we see happening so prevalently today was foretold by
the Prophet (saw) fourteen centuries ago. Allah's Messenger (saw) described
the End Times as "When people suffer strife and social upheaval" (Ahmad).
The first phases of the strife is the role reversal, People will believe a liar,
and disbelieve one who tells the truth. People will distrust one who is
trustworthy, and trust one who is treacherous. (Ahmad) This tears down the
virtue of credibility and rebuilds the society on sediment of every type of
betrayal imaginable.
Jubair ibn Nufair reported: I entered the residence of Abu Ad-Darda while he
was standing and praying in his place of prayer. When he sat down, he began
fervently to recite the testimony of faith and to seek refuge in Allah from
hypocrisy. After he finished, I said, May Allah forgive you, O Abu AdDarda! What is it about you and hypocrisy? Abu Ad-Darda said, O Allah,
your forgiveness! Who is safe from trial? Who is safe from trial? Who is safe
from trial? By Allah, a man might be tested for only an hour and he turns
away from his religion. [Source: Shuab al-mn 822]

Motives
2016
And Allah presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision
coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allah. So
Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been
doing. [16:112].

Nonetheless, human motives have run the course of greed and the fitnah
(trials & test) upon this Ummah of extreme wealth influences & legitimizes the
means by which material is acquired.
Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them which We
had established upon the earth as We have not established you? And we sent [rain
from] the sky upon them in showers and made rivers flow beneath them; then we
destroyed them for their sins and brought forth after them a generation of others.
And even if We had sent down to you, [O Muhammad], a written scripture on a
page and they touched it with their hands, the disbelievers would say, "This is not
but obvious magic." [6:7-9]. First let me explain that the Quran was always
intended to be a book hence one of its names by Allah Al-Kitab (the book), but
initially when it was revealed it was convey by Jabril a.s. (Gabriel the angel of
revelation also called the holy spirit) to prophet Muhammad s.a.w. one of two
ways. (1) Jabril a.s. would remain in spiritual form (his true self) and relay the
message that resembled a bell type sound which suggested that the prophet
s.a.w. was being inspired to higher spiritual relevance of

Sooner or later when the building comes to a close, most of the jobs that
were created were hinged to the loans being taken out and the economy
will grind to a halt. The interest on the loans will have captured many new
slaves because the money supply doesnt include the amount of interest it
has tacked to it, so many people will lose what they have and remain
enslaved by unescapable debt. This was the strategy of the IMF & World
banks for those other markets who underwent the same circumstances in
order to force them into loans thus becoming wards of the Zionist-bankers.
After such actions the sovereignty of the country is gone by seizing its
wealth from an indebted people and it then becomes a colony of NATO.
Sadly, this is the destructive path the country is on, but the guidance is
there, they have forgotten it, some have lost it, while other just wont take it
nor accept it
So these selfish denials of reality even on a secular level that would help to
better understand the ways of which people are allowing themselves to be
influenced is disregarded as their actions grow more aggressive and onesided. Aggression is something we tend to think about in how it relates to
others, and our own actions in harming them. But, our own aggressive
behaviours that are co-conspired to other motives driven by incentives of a
reward can have the same intrinsic effects of harm as those that are
extrinsic.
And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will
make upon the earth a successive authority (Khalifa)." They said, "Will You place
upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your

[2:30]
Then Satan whispered to him; he said, "O Adam, shall I direct you to the tree of
eternity and possession that will not deteriorate?" [20:120]
And Adam and his wife ate of it {the forbidden tree}, and their private parts
became apparent to them, and they began to fasten over themselves from the
leaves of Paradise. And Adam disobeyed his Lord and erred. [20:121]
Then his Lord chose him and turned to him in forgiveness and guided [him].

So, although mankind has been created to succeed one another generation
after generation it is only by the guidance of the almighty that we are able
to avoid the misery of this worlds life and gain the success of the next.
Throughout the ages man has been misled by evil in all its disguises and
consequently destroyed and succeeded by other nations. Although
embedded within ourselves are traits, and personality unique to the
individual, most severe aggressions wont be carried out by the majority of
peoples as most are inherently good; however for the few that do, it will
appear as the entire world in engulfed in violence as is the case today.
Aggression has been a driving force that has enabled corruption on land &

The heart at times is commanding upon the intelligence/understanding of a
person that is compelled into this realm of curiosity which can lead to a
clear understanding when there was none, increase us in understanding
that we already have as was the case with Ibrahim a.s. Or, based on the
condition of the heart, actually be driven the opposite way towards
disbelief. In the heart lies that which will make that in which you seek

the word so many times in the Quran saying, "it wasn't us (royal plural of
power) who wronged them, but it was they who wronged themselves." In other
words our own arrogances, and ignorance are characteristics that may cause
ourselves unnecessary suffering. Blaming others and never taking responsibility to
our own situations, changing bad ways and accepting truth when opportunities
present themselves to do so. These are all human traits that cause setbacks that are
not allowed and under more healthy mental states should never occur or at least be
recognizable enough to alter them from taking complete possession disabling
ourselves. In fact, it's fairly easy to suggest that what we often project is a reaction
to what we ourselves are undergoing either from some other external source or
from ourselves. The inner projected outward so to speak.
Capitalistic society has driven this personal need of cognitive understanding and
skills in order for people to participant in a world that is competitive and less
cooperative. As a result, personal achievement has become something of personal
significance. Islam to recognizes the need of personal development and
achievement with 1) competitions of task 2) competitions of self and 3)
competitions with others as

It is only by competition that we are pushed to higher levels of personal
development upon that in which we are undertaking; however this is meant
to be a friendly competition. We should not then allow worldly matters to
change the status of our competitions to thoughts or practises that harbor
jealousies, nor should we boastfully rant about successes we have been
blessed with. It is therefore encouraged to help one another in attaining
higher levels as this will help to combat such negative notions in people
who feel alienated or left behind. Muslims are encouraged to being high

portion, and you have engaged [in vanities] like that in which they engaged. [It is]
those whose deeds have become worthless in this world and in the Hereafter and
it is they who are the losers. [9:69]
Has there not reached them the news of those before them - the people of Noah
and [the tribes of] 'Aad and Thamud and the people of Abraham and the
companions of Madyan and the towns overturned? Their messengers came to
them with clear proofs. And Allah would never have wronged them, but they were
wronging themselves.

But affiliation based on iman and Aqeedah has proven to be stronger than
that of kinship, race, and nationality as was witnessed in the battle of Badr;
The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin
what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give zakat and
obey Allah and His Messenger. Those - Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed,
Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise. [9:71]
Allah has promised the believing men and believing women gardens beneath
which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and pleasant dwellings in gardens
of perpetual residence; but approval from Allah is greater. It is that which is the
great attainment.
Therefore let all of our affiliations be based upon that which is good and
upon that which strengthens the bonds of belief, love, and brother/sisterhood until we can once again feel empathy in the same manner the prophet
s.a.w. depicted for us in terms of one body for a Muslims and then let us
apply these same healing properties to humanity
Religiosity/Spiritual
This potential Im speaking about rest within every human being to
understand their own existence through the truth of Allah, to believe in him
and his ones-ness
And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins their descendants {all of Humanity in the spiritual worlds} and made them testify
of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have
testified." [This] - lest you should say{any one of us} on the day of Resurrection,
"Indeed, we were of this unaware." [7:172].

Or [lest] you say, "It was only that our fathers associated [others in worship] with
Allah before, and we were but descendants after them. Then would You destroy us
for what the falsifiers have done?"[7:173]
And thus do We [explain in] detail the verses, and perhaps they will return. [7:174]
Abu Huraira r.a. reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be
upon him, said, No one is born except upon natural instinct, then his
parents turn him into a Jew or Christian or Magian. As an animal
produces their young with perfect limbs, do you see anything
defective?(Source: Sahih Bukhari 1292, Sahih Muslim 2658). (Elias, 2011) This is one of the
deepest fundamentals about humanity, and something that cant be
destroyed although it is often ignored and repressed. It is the essence of
the purity of man, his source and connection to his true reality of self. This
concept is known as al-fitrah. Islam is sometimes called al-din ul-fitrah
meaning the religion of natural instinct or inclination. The verses and the
following hadith help to understand that the religion of the creator has
always been Islam, (although in different languages of previous prophets it was called by the
meaning in those languages respectively) and it should be understand that the religion
of the creator is not something that changes from its principals. Laws are
something altogether different, as they are not changed by man, but only
by the creator (naskh) through abrogated revelation. Humanity experiences
changes in modernity; therefore Al-Hakim (the wise) abrogates his own
words/laws through successive prophets/messengers who bring forth new
revelation. The fundamentals of about Allah and the concepts of Tawhid
remain unchanged foreverSomething of importance to make note of
which was highlighted by the creator in the previous verses of
surah/chapter Al-Araf and then follow by the hadith of the prophet s.a.w.;
Religion is not something that is hereditary unless it is the true religion of
al-fitrah. This is something that most people have adopted like the many
nations that have preceded us. Allah warns about the falsifiers and the
2016
excuse that people will use on the last day in regards to this. Many people
might say, well isnt that a biased opinion to say that Islam is the only true
religion? I would promptly & readily reply, NO. This is the reason
whyThe true religion of humanity is something that satisfies and answers
every one of humanities inclinations, biological, physiologically &
psychological, which is what we have been discussing in terms of fallacies
that have led people to stray on corrupt matters. I like to use the mental
pictorial analogy of the small boat on a river rapid that is fighting against the
river current to travel to its destination. With only human labor to rely on its
virtually impossible on the water its a constant struggle to fight towards
progress of reaching its destination. Even when tiring one might stop
paddling, and for that duration of no fight the boat is being set back in the
progress it had reached to that point, as the current carries it backward.
Exhausting and perpetual it produces no reward; however in opposition the
task would be very simple only needing to stir avoiding potential problems,
and keeping proper balance to prevent capsizing much like the ups &
downs of life, prohibitions/permissive, and extremes people fall into that
distort proper balance in religion. The religion of fitrah therefore is nonresistive to man, provides answers & understanding to his curiosity, to his
needs, and helps him to achieve the higher qualities of life while in this
world and the one to come.

people of Hell until there is not between him and Hell {meaning again very close
to the persons death} except an arms length and then what has been recorded
for him will overtake him and he shall perform the deeds of the people of Paradise
and enter it. (Recorded in Bukhari and Muslim) The four decrees are based on
Allahs ultimate knowledge of all things that will ever take place and
therefore they are not his wishes on people but instead regarded among
his divine plan. This coming together of the Ruh & nafs is the beginning of
the biological and psychological aspects of who the person is to become.
The soul is an element or branch of knowledge that the creator has shared only a
little bit of Knowledge about:
(the Spirit); Say: "The Ruh (the Spirit): it is one of the things, the knowledge of
which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you (mankind) have been given
only a little." [Surah Al-Isra 17:85}
The Soul/Spirit is termed Ruh (ruh) in Arabic and this is the element from the
creator which is pure. A particular proof of that would be the breathe of the
creator was blown onto Adam in which Adam them became a human being
(meaning alive with conscious, because Adam was never a baby instead he was
created on his image of being a man already not the image of the creator).
However, the term Ruh is used in other ways such as to refer to the Angel Jabril
a.s. (Gabriel), who is Allah's messenger of revelation of whom the prophets would
see etc. In the bible the English translation is used "spirit". The best example
would be John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into
all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and
he will tell you what is yet to come.
If you remember what I said about the term Ruh/Spirit is used when referring to the
purity of something, so in the case of the bible the term spirit was referring to the
prophet that was to come after Eesa bin Mariam a.s. (Jesus) who was the one
speaking in that verse. Now, many Christians have translated that word spirit to
2016
mean Holy Ghost or comforter as some put it... So, the use of the term is used to
refer to purity i.e. Angels, and the nature/character of prophets who were of the
creators chosen people (most pure of people) to deliver his message. But, the Ruh
most commonly refers to the Ruh/Spirit while it is still without the body....This is
no contradiction to the prophets purity although they were in the body, because
they were in the higher states of human existence which we will discuss shortly.
The body made of clay & all the soils of the earth that depict all the various
ethnicity, texture, and characteristics it produces; is inclined to lowly desires while
the spirit is inclined to higher spiritual purpose. This is the fundamental difference
between the soul and the Ruh/spirit. The soul is a term that in fact resembles the
definition of the self-merged with the spirit which now has a
conscious....Effectively the "SELF"...So, having differences of inclination we can
further define these particular aspects of the "Nafs"...
1. An-Nafs Al-ammarah (which means the self, and ammarah comes from the
word Amr which means command) thus this stage of the Nafs/self is more so
compelled by its desires which are either biological, physiological or
psychological needs or drives that will encourage it towards meeting those
needs. Hence the need for knowledge. Knowledge and the ability to
reason in gaining knowledge this sets the human being apart from the
animal kingdom. However, without knowledge the human being will live a
life of just seeking to fulfill his/her desires and never surpass this stage.
and I do not
acquit myself. Indeed, the soul (nafs) is a persistent enjoiner of evil, except
upon those which my Lord has mercy. Indeed, my Lord is forgiving and
Merciful. {Quran 12:53}
2. An-Nafs Al-lawwamah (which means the self, and lawwamah comes from
lawm which means reproach, admonition, censure, rebuke) this stage comes
with the gathering of some knowledge in which the dos and don'ts of life are
understood. If actions are done that are wrong, this stage of the self feels
regret and the definitions mentioned now come into play in admonishing the
self towards seeking forgiveness and leaving off repeating those bad actions.
And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of
resurrection]
Does man think that we will not
2016
And recite to them, [O Muhammad], the news of him to whom we gave
[knowledge of] Our signs, but he detached himself from them; so Satan pursued
And if We had willed, we could have elevated him thereby, but he adhered
[instead] to the earth and followed his own desire. So his example is like that of
the dog: if you chase him, he pants, or if you leave him, he [still] pants. That is the
example of the people who denied Our signs. So relate the stories that perhaps
2016
they will give thought. {Quran 7:175-176} through doubts and garbled up
truth that are deliberately meant to distort & confuse
And [by]
the soul and He who proportioned it
And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness,
He has succeeded who purifies it,
And he has failed who instills it
[with corruption]. {Quran 91:7-10} ,but each of us has been given intellect
and the ability to discern and is its by these divine gifts that we are able to
transcend the traditions & concepts in which we are born into. This same
condition even applies to born Muslims. Although their families have lead
them aright and served a huge justice to themselves and to their children;
the children will be tested later in life to see if they remain on fitrah or if they
adapt deviant paths. As the Muslim has the virtue of having parents who
brought their children up on the true religion, there is also a special virtue
for those who were brought up from inherited practices of belief who later
revert back to the truth when they are older and use their abilities of
discernment to reacquire truth.
Those to whom
We gave the Scripture before it {Jews, Christians & Sabians} - they are believers in
it. [28:52]
And when it is
recited {the Quran} to them, they say, "We have believed in it; indeed, it is the
truth from our Lord. Indeed we were, [even] before it, Muslims [submitting to
Allah from belief in previous revelation]." [28:53]
Those {who accept the last revelation & its
Prophet Muhammad s.a.w who conveyed it} will be given their reward twice for
what they patiently endured and [because] they avert evil through good, and from
what We have provided them they spend. [28:54]
2016
2016
So have they not traveled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to
hear? For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the
Hajj 22:46}
And We
breasts.{Quran
have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not
understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear.
Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless.
{Araf 7:179}.
So, the heart is used in contrast to the eye and hears, which are the two
most common senses employed in human learning & understanding.
However, Allah the creator is suggesting that the heart plays a bigger role
in understanding than either the eye or ear thus by neglecting it people
succumbs to conditions that are worse than cattle. If you observe cattle you
either see them eating or sleeping which is their purpose in providing us
with food; however when compared to man it suggest that he has become
a servant of desire, which is less than his created capacity and regarded
something very evil, despised. The eye & ear are sensory objects which
utilize the mind in understanding worldly stimulus by tangible imagery or
2016
auditory intake, but the heart also has eyes & ears that hear. This is the
purer side of man (al-ruh) where the mind is the side of the nafs. Our actions
therefore will side with one or the other. The choice of either makes the
action wrong or right and leaves the paper trail that explains the intention.
Psychologically this manipulation of behaviour as trended in turning the
psyche of people towards an obey your thirst campaign, which is
effectively promoting the fulfillment of desire. We all have been placed in
situations that we felt in the heart were wrong, but have allowed our nafs to
persuade us in committing the wrong action or behaviour anyway. Such
deeds, although one might later suggest to oneself that the consequence
was minimal or seemingly nothing at all, which leads to a weakening on
that notion of action/behaviour which makes it something easier to commit
in the future. However, these same actions of the self will thus directly
affect the heart. Evil deeds, deeds of prohibitions and the likes stain the
heart with black spots for each time something is done until the entire heart
is covered and encased becoming hardened and locked....
Some characteristics of the heart are:
the sound heart...this heart is pure, has worldly matters and concerns
leave them, which is the highest state an-nafs al-mutma'innah the
heart is the superior part of the process and consideration to the
Nafs/self since the Ruh/Spirit and body merge. Heart resides in the
physical body, while the Ruh floats and spreads through the body.
But both have to have recognition and collaboration to attain peace.
the sick heart...feels no remorse, seeks pleasure constantly in
disobedience to prohibitions, feels discomfort around righteous
people, has no sense of truth, and attracted to misconceptions &
philosophies of debate...Poisons are harmful speech, unrestrained
glances, excessive food, and bad company...
The diseased heart is wholly encased and is now inverted (what is wrong
is now right and what is right is now seen as wrong), it is dreary and harsh, and it
rejoices at the praise of other than Allah which effectively means all
things false.
2016
This is now the direction of the world, unable to see the reality or truth
because of wrongful living that captures the heart with freedoms to do as
you wish without realizing the impending harm on society and the self. Out
of bounds living is what I call it, and once any form of parameters are
mentioned these hearts quickly seek to find fault with it turning to personal
rationalizing or group philosophy to support their differences. Allah has
created the human being in such a way, that what affected Adam a.s. and
the many nations after him still effect mankind today...Unchanging, the
human-being repeats the fallacies and faults of his predecessors without
taking heed. How much further do you think you need to test the issues
before punishment comes? For surely as those who were destroyed before
for similar actions it will again descend upon the peoples of this age...So
make it a practice of the conscious to see and understand why it is you do
what you do before its too late... (Swift S. I., 2015)
