Transition: At this time students will go into


the locker room to change and come into the
gym for attendance.
Introduction: Introduce myself to the
students and explain what we will be doing
for the lesson.
Warm-up/Activity 1: Students will begin with
a jog for 3 minutes and 20 seconds.
Following that they will complete 10 3-count
jumping jacks, 10 push-ups, and 10
crunches.
Informing: Inform and remind students of the
rules of handball.
Transition: Students will transition into their
predetermined teams for handball.
Activity 2: Students will play in a modified
game of handball, two teams with
approximately 8 students per team. (Can vary
depending on number of students)
Extension up: A goal scored by normally
throwing the ball into the net will be worth 1
point. A goal scored by using a bounce-shot
will be worth 2 points. Students will also be
required to make a minimum of 5 passes
before shooting the ball.
Extension down: A goalie will not be used,
only defenders to stop the opposing team
from reaching the goal.
Transition: Students will return all equipment
and come into the center of the gym for the
closure.
Closure: What strategies/tactics did you use
today in the lesson? What skills were used
today in gameplay? Why is communication
important for both the offense and the
defense in handball? What are some
important specific rules of handball?
Transition: Students will go back into the
locker at the end of the class to change.
