By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
(P) Students will perform at least 4 successful passes while moving and defend against
passes in a zone and/or man to man defense during game play. (National: S1.H1.L2,
MCHCF 2.17)
(C) Students will be able to identify the difference between man to man and various
zone defenses (2-3 & 1-3-1) and the explain the benefits with accuracy when asked
by the teacher at the end of class. (National: S2.H1.L2; MCHCF 2.26)
(A) Students will be able to explain what strategies they used to defend against their
opponents passing offense and whether they used man to man or zone and why when
asked by the teacher at the end of class. (National: S2.H2.L2; MCHCF 2.26)

Teacher Performance Objectives During the lesson the teacher will:
Be enthusiastic in coaching, teaching and refereeing during activities by bringing good
energy as well as good pedagogical content knowledge of the skills and strategies.
Special Considerations What are the safety concerns? What is unique about the
students in this class?
Students need to always be aware of their surroundings and positioning on the court to
avoid running into each other too hard.
Students need to be aware of who has the ball and be ready at any time to catch a
pass. Also the student passing the ball should make sure their teammate is looking
when they go to pass them the ball.
