Subject/Unit: Friends & Family in The Lightning Thief
Number of Class Days: 1/2 (7 total- different each time)
Overview

Students will write an essay that gives a name to describe the


relationship between their character and Percy with evidence from the
book.

Objectives

At the end of this assignment, students will have categorized encounters


between Percy and his/her character in order to interpret their
relationship.

Novel
Surface
Handout (paper or in OneNote)

Procedures

Extensions

1)
Have students move the assignment page (titled:
Character Paper) from content library into their Character section
2)
Go over the assignment instructions. Give them dates for
each of the work days depending on the semester/month 15 mins
3)
Answer student questions 5-10 mins
4)
Have students look through their Character section as
well as their novel and make sure they have all the parts they will
need to do this paper. 10-15 mins
ELL and students with IEPs can come to me with whatever questions
they have and I will work with them.
