to clients, assisting clinicians and students and setting up large animal surgery for emergencies.

8 weeks of clinical experience at Brock Veterinary Hospital which is a mixed animal practice in La
Mesa, TX. Large animal surgeries include arthroscopy and colic surgeries on horses.
Externship at Hillside Veterinary Clinic, Dallas, TX
July 2015
10 days working 10 to 12 hours per day at a 24/7 small animal practice with a variety of veterinarians to
improve small animal knowledge and practical skills. Saw regular appointments and emergencies and
scrubbed in on surgeries including a cystotomy, enucleation and splenectomy.

Set up and ran horse training business that included starting colts and working with problem horses for

Ranch Hand on F6 Ranch
Entire life
Take part in all livestock related activities on family ranch in Junction, Texas. Spent majority of school
vacations living/working on ranch alongside mother who is a veterinarian. Work includes routine
doctoring of cows, sheep, goats, horses, dogs and cats, branding and castrating calves, lambs and kids,
deworming sheep and goats and training young horses.
Other Animal Experiences
Prior to starting vet school, animal experiences included working at an Icelandic horse breeding farm
(May 2012), helping calve out 50 first calf Angus heifers on a Wyoming ranch (March 2012), instructing
in a therapeutic riding program (September 2010 May 2011), traveling on veterinary missionary trips
to Honduras (May 2009 and May 2010), volunteering at specialist small animal hospital and a mixed
animal practice in New Zealand (February 2009 May 2009), achieving a C1 Rating in Pony Club
(2001 2006) and participating in horse training seminars (January 2002 present).
