In my opinion Planet sports is on Instagram because its a young German
company that is mainly about snow, skate and surf wear. Its customers therefore
are also young people that are present on Instagram. So the company can keep
in touch with them and use Instagram as kind of marketing for e.g. telling the
followers about upcoming discounts. Furthermore several surfers, skaters and
snowboarders are on Instagram as well. Planet sports follows them to put
attention on themselves. They can also repost pictures from them. Another
advantage of Instagram is that it is free, so no money has to be spend on
advertising or creating a business account. In addition to that, Instagram has a
huge reach with over 300 million active users, means 300 million potential
customers. Planet sports did it well to use the companies name as username, so
the customers can easily find the right account. Further on, they put the link to
the website in bio, so customers get directly linked to the online shops where
they can buy the products they saw on Instagram. Another advantage is that it is
very easy to use and it doesnt need a lot of time to create it. All you need is a

quite good camera, creativity and a little bit of time. The final advantage is to get
easy in contact with your customers, you can get direct feedback, what they
like/dislike, repost or comment.

Why does Herschel supply use Instagram?

Herschel supply is a high quality brand of caps, backpacks and bags. With using
Instagram they can express the creative side of their brand. In general,
Instagram is perfect for creative/aesthetic companies. The target group of
Herschel are men and women between 20 and 30 years, as well as the typical
Instagram user. They often repost pictures from customers, wearing Herschel
products. Furthermore, in the bio of Herschel supplys Instagram account one
can find the link to the shop. This leads followers directly to their website, so
