retired)
And all those community members here to support them
Good evening, it is a pleasure to be here this evening at the

2014 True Patriot Love Atlantic Provinces Tribute Dinner.

I am delighted to bring you greetings on behalf of the men

and women of Irving Shipbuilding.

The cause that brings us together tonight has great

significance to me.
Having served 36 years in the U.S. Navy, I have witnessed

first- hand the struggles that military families can face.

It is of the utmost importance that we support the families

of the men and women who defend this country.

Their welfare, their rehabilitation, and their families health

is the foundation of what True Patriot Love stands for.

This cause is very important to the employees and owners of
Irving Shipbuilding.

We are proud to be on- going sponsors of the True Patriot

Love foundation, this dinner and the work that the

foundation enables.
Every one of us at Irving Shipbuilding takes great pride in the
work carried out by the men and women who serve this

country.
We build their vessels with great care and then follow their
missions, successes, challenges and returns with interest

and respect
We take custody of their current ships to refit and repair
them, making them safer and more secure so that they have
the equipment and transportation required to represent

Canada.
We work hard to return them as soon as we can, ready and

able to serve once again.

And we have begun the all-important design, engineering
and planning work for the AOPS, the first set of new Naval
combatant ships and we cant wait to get started with the

build phase
Its a cycle were committed to and proud of, and one we

hope to continue well into the future.

The True Patriot Love foundation is crucial in providing
support for military families.

We support the True Patriot Love Foundations mission to

bridge the military and civilian worlds and ensure the

funding that is needed is being received.

That is why we are all here tonight, because together we
support our military, their families and the future of

Canadian military defense.

On behalf of myself, my wife Terry , Mr. and Mrs. Irving, my
colleagues, and each and every employee at Irving
Shipbuilding, I want to thank you for coming out tonight to

support this great cause.
