Math Students have taken the Topic 9 test and

started
Topic 10. In Topic 10 we are adding and subtracting fractions.
Reading When we return to school we will begin a normal
reading unit. Our first story is Weslandia. It is about a boy
who doesnt conform to what society does and how he copes
with being bullied.
GrammarOur class will be reviewing Unit 3 grammar.
There will be a quiz when we get back from break. On the quiz
will be adjectives, adverbs, and types of sentences.
Writing The students wrote letters and made cards for
local residents of a nursing home. The class will also be writing
about what their goals are for the upcoming new year.
Spelling Here is the spelling list for the test when we arrive
back at school in January.
Social Studies In January, the students will start to learn
the 50 states. We will break the states in regions and quiz over
them. Finally, there will be a quiz in which all 50 states and
capital will be tested over. If you want to get a jump start, I
have posted the Northeast region on Edmodo.
Science **Upon return we will begin Unit 4 on ecosystems.

Science Fair
Please mark your calendars that February 5th, 2016 will be the
date for the Science Fair this year. This is a great way to get
extra credit. Science grades will be raised one letter grade for
those who participate.
