Learning Plan

Learning Activities
The activity performed was a review game over word problems for multiplication entitled Math
Baseball. Basically, it starts with the classroom being arranged like a baseball diamond, with 4
different bases. The classroom is split equally into 2 teams through random assignment, and
a coin is flipped to decide who is up to bat. The team who is up to bat lines up behind the
home plate, and once each student reaches the home plate, they must answer a question
relating to the lesson on a PowerPoint. If they get it right, they proceed to first base, and
whoever is already on base, if anybody, moves to their next base. If they get it wrong, the team
in the outfield gets a chance to catch the ball by answering the question. If they get it right, it
counts as an out, but if they get it wrong, its simply a strike for the offensive team. The teams
switch sides once 3 outs are reached or 2 runs have been scored, for the sake of having
everybody get to answer a question at some point. Occasionally, an extra-hard Challenge
question pops up in the form of a Grand Slam, where if the kid gets it right, everybody on
base gets to come back to home, resulting in multiple points scored.
