Proposal Plan
SOAR Student Orientation is an integral part of UNC Charlottes culture.
The UNC Charlotte Provost Office currently does not have the proper
volunteers or budget to accurately represent their department at the
SOAR, Week of Welcome and other student engaged events. This
problem prevents the department from gaining student feedback,
positive promotion and content for their newly revised website
seas.uncc.edu.
The project plan has been enacted without the budget. Over the
summer the team has been working on this project. We have been
updating the website and creating signs and layouts ourselves. It was
on a tight budget, which limited our creative abilities. We managed to
have half a video shot before the camera broke and derailed the video
portion of our project. That is when we realized that without the proper
materials we cannot make the Provost Offices plan a success. We want
to best represent the Provost Office and students success at the
university. Below are some samples of the work completed for the
project.

Above are the pictures taken of students at

UNC Charlotte. These pictures were taken to
capture what they want to accomplish at UNC
Charlotte.

Above is a sign that we made and laminated

for orientation this Summer.
I will be working to serve the requirements of the University
Communications Office board, the Provost Office Board as well as the
Academic Affairs Office Board and most importantly the students.
Student feedback is important for the promotion and reputation of the
Provost Office. Their division Student Engagement for Academic
Success is an up and running department in need student feedback
and hands on community involvement. The board and the faculty will
benefit from hearing the team of interns ideas, goals and perspectives
for the upcoming year.
My goal is to educate provide awareness and positively promote the
Provost Office Division called Student Engagement for Academic
Success (SEAS). I will do this using advertising and marketing
strategies that will help us stand out and earn more student
engagement and feedback. In addition to these marketing and
advertising strategies I plan on forming a Sponsorship with the Campus
Activities Board (CAB) and the Latin American Student Organization
(LASO). Partnering with the Campus Activities Board will allow the UNC
Charlotte Provost Office to host events that include motivational
speakers and hands on exercises to show the students how to be a
successful leader and academic student in and outside of the
classroom. From these partnerships I hope to expand the social media
platforms that the Student Engagement for Academic Success team
already created. I also plan on using video footage, photography and
students tweets or social media shootouts to add to the content of the
seas.uncc.edu website.
This plan is to increase the followers, sponsorship by 75% by 2018.
This project will take about eight to twelve months to develop upon the
boards approval
