Holocaust Inquiry

The Holocaust as many know was a complete catastrophe. It is an event that many
remember as horrifying, disgusting, gloomy and just depressing. The estimated totality of deaths
are said to be 6,000,000 Jews, all at the hands of one man, Adolf Hitler. Descriptions of
experiments that were tested on many Jews consisted of inserting a probe into the rectum to
measure the temperature drop of ones body to ultimately discover the fastest way to drop the
temperature of ones body. This example is one of many freezing experiments. The experiments
continued into heating experiments as one experiments was called Sun Lamp, the process of
this experiment consisted of placing people under sun lamps which released so much heat that
the victims skin would burn and then they would be cooled off to later repeat the process.
Another experiment, which was the most important to the Nazis, was the genetic
experimentation on many Jews. Part of the process consisted of injecting two-liter enemas into
the victims rectum repeatedly. Another part of the process is a urological examination in which
tissue samples are taken from the kidneys, prostate, and testicles. All of these examinations are
inhumane and excruciating. Many people know enough details about the Holocaust to
understand how horrific of an event it is in the worlds history, but not many people question the
reasoning behind the events occurring. How could one justify the events that occurred to be
humane? The cooling and heating of many Jews bodies to the point of causing extreme pain and

harm shows a complete lack of humanity and a disgrace towards human life. Adolf Hitler started
off as an army veteran and became frustrated after the world war defeat. He released his
frustration by speaking to many people about these issues and gained followers through his
convincing style of speech. Why would the Germans empower someone without truly
understanding their true motives? Although he spoke about how he was going to bring Germany
out of economic depression and bring the power back to Germany, no one stopped to ask how he
was going to perform such a task and what events had to occur in order for this dramatic mission
to be successful. In order for Hitler to perform such a impactful event he believed that such a
inhumane action had to be taken to empower Germany. Many people look at Adolf Hitler as the
leader of this horrific event but do not question why people joined him. A very pivotal question
to ask is why did people join Adolf Hitler in completing such a disgusting and morally wrong
mission? Maybe an even more important question, is why did German citizens not join together
and fight against this nonsense? Fear and a lack of support could have played a role in many
citizens choosing to turn their heads and act as if nothing bad was taking place. When some
German citizens were asked about the vacancy of the Jewish communities they used an excuse of
ignorance, in the sense that they were unaware of the missing Jews. How are the Germans not
ridiculed, for not standing up against the Nazis? The Germans should be blamed just as much as
the Nazi soldiers who tortured the Jews, due to their inability to stop such a horrific event from
occurring. As it has been displayed in many other events throughout history, when many people
come together for a common cause a certain goal can be achieved. This makes one believe that if
many Germans would have come together to stop this event many lives could have been saved
and the negative impact could have been reduced.
