Dear College Students:
Through out the years the idea of voting has become less and less
important to young adults, due to several opinions deterring new voters from
contributing to society. The right to vote for women, and people of color was a
serious battle of civil rights and suffrage that may people fought for. Just that
history and overall determination should make young African American students
want to cast their vote in memory of those who made the sacrifice so that your
voice can be heard. According to rantpolitcal.com people from the ages of 18-26
feel like if they cant make a educated decision about their vote than they
shouldnt vote at all, now in todays time its the candidates responsibility to make
information about their reform platforms easily accessible. The act of casting your
vote makes you feel very patriotic and proud to be American. Another reason for
you as a young adult should want to vote is because no one is looking out for
your best interest of a college student but you. Many people think about health
insurance and retirement but you as a college student have several different
issues such as student loan rates, unemployment, gun control laws, and
education standards since those Americans have already been there they wont
necessarily vote for the candidate that is doing the most for those issues. In
conclusion, you are an adult now and becoming knowledgeable and involved
with your government, and making sure you use your vote to benefit you is apart
of you flourishing. So make your vote count!
