Students will use critical thinking, problem solving, and
decision making to identify and define problems and ask
questions. This will make them use multiple processes and
diverse perspectives to explore alternative solutions on how
to find solutions in math problems, and their feeling towards
math.

Activities

To get students involved and interested in the lesson, I will

ask students to express their feeling about math out loud.
Students will each get to talk about how they are feeling
toward what is currently being taught and if they like it or not
and why.
Students will use the internet to create a comic strip or a
story about themselves and their feelings towards math.
Students will talk about if they like it, or if they feel like they
struggle with it. Students will talk about their own ways on
how to approach different math problems and other ways to
solve math problems that students are struggling with.

s:

For students who may be more advanced will create a more

in depth comic about why they like math, and what caused
them to like it so much, and if that love for the subject
helped them become better. For the students who may be
behind in math and have a harder time with it, these
students will talk about why it is hard for them, and if they
had a bad experience that caused them to not like math.
At the end of the lesson, students will have drawn out their
comics and colored them to take home and create their own
comic strip online, if they want to. If students choose not to
create one due to limited computer use at home, they will
have the option to just turn in their drawings. Students will
also turn in a paragraph explaining why they do or dont like
math, and how I (the teacher) can help them learn to like
math, or suggestions on fun ways to teach math that they
may like better.
