Lesson Schedule
Math language: teacher focus in math words , such as : measure, weight ,
length, tall, ruler, non-standard units, standard units, short/shorter that/ the
shortest/ long /longer that/ the longest.
Teacher questions:
What do we mean by meter?
Is that important to have meter in our life?
Can you thing about some people they use the meter in their work ?
What can we measure by meter?
Grouping students :
students will work all the class together.
For sorting the pictures they will work as small groups.
Students will play sorting activity in 2 groups (I will mix the low ability students with the
rest of the groups).
Engage (warm up, review prior knowledge):

I will show my students a small experiment done by them 2 days ago, I will shoe them 10
their pictures .

I will ask them questions such as :
Which way is easer ?
Measuring with small ruler or using the meter ? (I will ask them to think for one minute,
then discuss it with you peer the one who is in you right hand) .
Then I will play them a video explaining what is the meter ? where could we find it ?
and why do we use it ?
The video is about 4 minutes , so during displaying the video , I will stop it and I will
discuss with them about significant points.

1- Teacher will show students some pictures and they need to say if it is
short or long .
2- Teacher will show students some pictures and they need to decide if they
can measure it by using the meter or centimeter ruler.
