Math In Topic 9 students have learned about mixed numbers, improper fractions, equivalent fractions and much more.
We are coming to the end of Topic 9. We will be reviewing on
Monday of next week and testing on Tuesday. There are some
fun educational games on my website for extra practice.
Reading I hope the students enjoyed The Last Holiday
Concert. I love getting out of the text book to read quality novels. We have many other novels by Andrew Clements in our
class library available to be checked out.
GrammarOur class will be studying adverbs and reviewing
adjectives.
Writing The students will be writing a letter trying to convince you to give them the Christmas present of their dreams.
We continue to work on persuasive writing. Sorry!!
Spelling Spelling Test this week is focused on prefixes.
Study!!
Social Studies Today we took a test on Chapter 5. Next
week we will study the Middle Atlantic Colonies. Students
were given a packet for extra credit to finish. This is due on
the 18th.
Science We are coming to the end of Unit 2. States of
matter. We will be reviewing most of next week and are
scheduled to take a next week.

Note From the Teacher:

We will be having our Christmas party in the morning of December 18th.

The afternoon schedule does not allow us enough time to have our party in the afternoon. That is why some have been requested to change their treat or drink to fit a
breakfast menu. Students are allowed to wear pajamas, if they would like; however
please make sure appropriate for school and outside recess. Thank you parents who
have volunteered to send in treats. WE appreciate it!!
