From the start, art is known as a way for artist to convey their feeling in
various forms using different tool. From statues to canvas everything is art
including everything that you see around you. That includes building, which in
this particular time architects is consider the artist. Bringing up this topic, the
building where I find the most interesting would be the Sagrada Familia and
Cassa Batll in Barcelona, Spain. With their alluring and enchanted building
that looks like it just came out from a fairytale book will make any architects
stop in awe. I should know better that each of this building has its own
specialty but the most attracted building for me would be Cassa Batll,
Barcellona Spain.

First off all theyre differences in term of there own exterior. The Sagrada
Familia is well known for its tradition of Gothic and architecture of Later
Roman or Eastern Roman Empire while the Cassa Batll is portrayed as a
joyful building with colorful scale covering the wall, with a bone like structure
and masquerade mask like balcony. What makes the Cassa Batll much more
different than the other building would be the roof that is in a shape of a
dragon with large iridescent scale that give of a touch of fairytale. But
surprisingly this 7th floor building is known to have a lot of speculation based
on the design itself through out the years. However, both of the building never
fails to mesmerize the entire tourist that came far and wide.

Secondly, the function of the building itself is use differently. For Sagrada
Familia is famous as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Barcelona while
Cassa Batll is once used to reside the famous textile industrialist family, Mr.

Josep Batll I Casanovas. Sagrada Familia functions as a central catholic

church, which contain the seat of the bishop on November 2010 that is
declared by Pope Benedict XVI. The Chapel of the Holy Sacrament and
Penitence is a reverse place to worship, contemplation and also where live
masses is held in the building itself is open for public. While symbolic visits is
held for locals and tourist at a reasonable price. The orders of the Cassa
Batllo was kept till the death of Mr. Josep Batll children but in 1970 is where
the house get it first refurbishment in several of the interior rooms and 1983
where the exterior balconies color is restored to its original. By 1993, the
current homeowner continued the refurbishment throughout the whole
building and since then it was rented to hold many functions and hosted a lot
of important events in the city despite being a museum thats open for public.

Moreover, the country where the building is build in this case is the same
which is Barcelona,Spain. But the actual place where the building is different.
While the Sagrada Familia is located at Barcelona, Catalonia but Cassa Batll
is located at the very heart of Passeig de Grcia in Barcelona where its known
to be the most expensive street in the country. The most important different
would be the interior where both building is totally different. While Sagrada
Familia design is based on nature bio mimicry where the ceiling looks like a
sunflower and the stairs has a spiral design from a snail shell on the other
hand the noble floor in Cassa Batll has an underwater cave shape like
entrance hall that put the visitors mind in Captain Nemos underwater cave
and skylight thats look like the a tortoise shells vaulted all over the walls in
curving shapes.

In conclusion, both of the buildings that I stated above have their own
differences like exterior, functions, location and interior. But the most standout
building would be Cassa Batll from interior where it resemble an underwater
cave to the exterior where the shape of a dragon back like roof to the
masquerade mask like balcony makes my childhood storybook came to life in
one building where I can experience it all. Lastly, I would like to say Antonia
Gaudi really is a spectacular and visionary architect where the proof is state
on both of this building but also on his other project.
