Conference Support Application Deadline: February 1, 2016
The 2016 Zizek Studies Conference steering committee would like to invite applications for
support to attend the 2016 Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. Support for graduate students is
limited to registration fee waivers.
This form is due electronically (.pdf) no later than February 1, 2016 via email it to
zizek2016@gmail.com with Grad Support. FIRST NAME.LAST NAME in the subject line.
Please note: There are two sections to this application. The Applicant Information is to be
completed by a person applying for support. The Faculty Member Support section is to be
completed by a supporting faculty member or supervisor. Both sections must be received by
the due date to be considered.
Submissions will be reviewed and awarded based on the following criteria: (1) financial
support available from institution; (2) number of presentations being presented; and (3) travel
distance (in this case international students will be prioritized given the expense to travel to
the US).

Check the following statements as part of the conditions of the support:
_____I understand that as a support recipient I will be granted a registration waiver to the
conference. Additional support such as hotel accommodations will be offered if funding
permits. If hotel room support is provided the conference will try to accommodate religious
and sexual requests; however, due to the nature and modest support (when available) it is not
always possible to meet such requests.
_____I understand that as a support recipient I agree to volunteer time to help out at the
conference, including running the book table and/or registration table during the conference.
_____I understand that incomplete applications will be disqualified and that the Faculty
Member Information request form of this application must also be completed/submitted by the
deadline.
