In this article Katharine A. Craik discuses, the science of sleep during the early modern period,
along with the therapies for sleep disorder and the doctors view on the rhythms of night and day
that effect the sleeper. She also goes over the health concerns that come along with sleeping, and
the way that light effects sleep.
The source seems like a reliable source because she linked a website with her research and she
goes into so much detail on the subject. She brings in some of the science to sleeping and she
generalizes doctors opinions. The research isnt biased because it shows different opinions to the
beliefs of sleeping correctly. This source fits my research perfectly because it has details that will
help me bring together why sleep is so important.

There are many things that can contribute to the loss of wakefulness and very many being that a
person isnt breathing out enough carbon dioxide. She has many reliable sources that she cited,
and the Journal entry is a very reliable source.

reliable because it has been researched by many M.Ds.
"Why Is Sleep Important?" - NHLBI, NIH. National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, 22 Feb.

This article answers my line of inquiry directly with a variety of answers. The author writes
about how sleep promotes healthy brain function and emotional well-being. The author states
While youre sleeping, your brain is preparing for the next day. Physical health is another
important role that sleep ties in too. Not sleeping can cause your body too shut down and be
vulnerable to many different diseases. In order to function properly throughout the day, you need
to sleep.
The source seems incredibly reliable not only because its a .gov source but it has been a heavily
