Table 7.1
From the data in Table 1, at what value of VGS does the MOSFET become saturated?
4V
Use the values of VDS and ID for VGS = 10 V to determine rDS(on).
rDS(on) = VDS ID =
(0.015 ) V

From Chart 1, why does current seem to limit at approximately 600 mA?
The reason for the current to be limited at 600mA is because the formula
for current is VRD / 20ohms and if we substitute VRD for its value, 12.03
we get around 600mA. So thats why the current seems to be limited at
600mA.

4.
Accurately measure the voltage extremes of the output waveform with respect to
ground.
A.
With the oscilloscope on 5 volts/ div., what is the maximum, or peak, output
voltage? 12V
B.
With the oscilloscope on 0.5 volts/ div., what is the minimum output voltage?
60mV
5.
6.
What is the average voltage across the 2O drain resistor? Show your
calculations
Voltage across = (VRmax+VRmin)/2 = (12V+60mV)/2 = 6.03V
7.
What is the average current through the 2O drain resistor? Show your
calculations
Calculate the amount of power dissipated by the drain resistor. Show your
calculation.
Power = 6.03V * 301.5mA = 1.82mW
9.
What is the average amount of voltage across the MOSFET? Show your
calculations
Voltage across = 12V-30.3V = 5.97V
10.
What is the average amount of current through the MOSFET? Show your
calculations
11.
B OFF
Power OFF = 60mV*(0V/20 Ohms) = 0W
C AVG
Power AVG = (Power on + Power off) / 2 = 0.018W
